Sudha Kongara, the associate director of Mani Ratnam made her debut in Kollywood as a director through her neo noir crime film Drohi starring Srikanth and Vishnu Vishal. Though the film did not give her the break through that she would have expected her second venture Irudhi Suttru, starring Madhavan shot her to fame. The film that was released in Tamil, Telugu as well as in Hindi (all under her directorial) earned a lot of appreciation from the audience and critics of all languages.
Now the director has joined hands with Suriya for her next film. The yet to be titled flick was officially launched in Chennai with a formal pooja on Sunday. The combination has spread excitement among the actor’s fans. They are eagerly waiting for NGK to hit the screens soon as it’s been a year since they saw the actor in Thaana Serndha Koottam under the directorial of Vignesh Sivan.
If sources are true the Sudha Kongara’s film is said to be based on a real life incident, the story of Gopinath of Air Deccan. Gopinath was the man behind the idea of budget economy airfare that was aimed at people of all sectors. It is said that the director had come across some news paper article about the real life incident and she has made a script out of it. The film has been planned to be released in Tamil and Telugu at the same time.
The bilingual project will be produced by the actor himself under his home banner 2 D Entertainments. Malayalam actress Aparna Balamurali is set to play the female lead in the movie. The busiest artiste of Tamil cinema G. V. Prakash Kumar is said to compose the music for the film. The casting audition for the film is expected to be carried out soon and we will have the conformation about the rest of the technicians who are going to be a part of the film soon.
On the work front, actor Suriya is gearing up for the release of his next film NGK under the directorial of Selvaraghavan. The film is set to hit the screens on 31st of May 2019 amidst high expectations. Currently, the actor is very busy shooting for his next venture Kaappaan under the directorial of K. V. Anand. The actor and director duo have already worked on two projects Ayan and Maatran. Both the films enjoyed commercial success and that has set the expectation for their third film in a high scale.
