The current comedy sensation who made his debut in Tamil cinema industry through the action drama Yogi, starring director Ameer in the lead role shot to fame through his performances in Aandavan Kattalai, Pariyerum Perumal and Kolamavu Kokila. It was the dark comedy entertainer Kolamavu Kokila that helped the actor to turn the attention of cinema audience towards him as the actor romanced Lady super star Nayanthara in it. After starring in that comedy entertainer there is no time for the actor to even have adequate rest as he bagged numerous film offers which would keep him busy until 2021.
It is old news that the actor will be making his debut as a lead actor this year in the fantasy comedy entertainer Dharma Prabhu. The first look and teaser of the film was unveiled on social media a couple of months ago and received a good response from the viewers. Now, the production unit has unveiled the trailer of the film. The trailer promises to be a good comedy entertainer with many comical moments where actor Yogi Babu nails it with his performance.
The fantasy comedy flick is said to take place in a fictional world called Yamaloka, where Lord Yama Dharma’s time in power is coming to an end. The couple of minutes cut opens with the debate of who will be the successor to the throne after Yama Dharma. Yogi Babu gets an ironic introduction where he trolls himself. From the trailer we are able to comprehend that Lord Yama Dharma portrayed by Radha Ravi is tired of ruling Yamaloka for nearly one and a half lakh years. Now, he wants to retire stating his poor health. While Chitragupta played by Ramesh Thilak desires to see himself in the throne next, Yama Dharma makes his son Dharma Prabhu as his successor to everyone’s surprise. Following which as predictable clash breaks out between Lord Yama and his deputy Chitragupta which leads to confusion and disorder in Yamaloka.
The trailer has a lot of fantasy elements likes cars designed in the form of bulls, and the imaginative set up of the Yamaloka looks eye catching. The fun elements in the trailer have garnered the attention of people and in turn have set the bar of expectation for the film in a high level. Scripted and directed by Muthu Kumaran the comedy entertainer is expected to hit the screens on 28th of June.
Apart from actor Yogi Babu, the flick has Karunagaran, Mano Bala, Rekha, Singam Puli, Janani Iyer, and Sam Jones essaying various other supporting roles. Actress Meghna Naidu is set to do an item number in the venture. The music for the project will be composed by Justin Prabhakaran. The motion picture is bankrolled by P. Ranganathan under the banner Sri Vaari Film.
On the work front, actor Yogi Babu who is currently gearing up for a back to back release in the likes of Gurkha, Zombie and Dharma Prabhu, is currently busy shooting for the super star Rajinikanth starrer Darbar as well as for the Vijay starrer Bigil directed by Atlee.
