Actor Jiiva was last seen in the science fiction horror flick Black helmed by K G Balasubramani with actress Priya Bhavani Shankar in the female lead role. The Endrendrum Punnagai star is soon set to grace the silver screen again in his upcoming horror thriller titled Aghathiyaa. Lyricist and director Pa Vijay, who has delivered films like Strawberry and Aaruthra, has penned and helmed the movie. Actress Raashi Khanna of Imaikkaa Nodigal fame has depicted the love interest part of the actor. Veteran actor Arjun Sarja has played a pivotal role in the entertainer. Aghathiyaa was initially slated to release on 31st of January. The production house later announced that it has been pushed to 28th February. The entertainer will be released in languages Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
The makers have now released the trailer of the drama on social media. The production house took to the special X handle created for the film, and dropped a poster from the entertainer along with a link to the trailer of Aghathiyaa and wrote, “It is here! The Aghathiyaa trailer is live! Get ready for an unforgettable journey into horror, fantasy, and mystery. Watch it now and feel the thrills! Two minute long Trailer of Aghathiyaa starts with actor Jiiva taking us back to a century, “You are going to be meeting the ghosts of those people who lived 120 years! Extraterrestrial spirits use humans to communicate with us somehow.” The trailer swings back and forth to the present day and colonialism era. Actor Jiiva endeavors to unlock a mystery in a vintage palace. In a scene we see him say, “In order to open that secret door, musical notes could be the key.” Actor Arjun, who plays an ayurveda doctor in the past, enunciates a punch dialogue, “It looks just like herbs to the plain eye, but if they catch fire, they would become explosive powder!”
Aghathiyaa also stars actors Edward Sonnanblick, Redin Kingsley, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Matylda, Indhraja Shankar, Radha Ravi, and Azhagam Perumal. The technical side of the flick has music director Yuvan Shankar Raja handling the musical division of the drama. Cinematographer Dipak Kumar Padhy has operated cameras for the venture. Editor San Lokesh has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the movie. Art director P Shanmugam has erected sets for the project. Stuntman K Ganesh has choreographed action moves. Aghathiyaa is backed by Ishari K Ganesh under his home banner Vels Film International in association with Aneesh Arjun Dev under the banner house Wide Angle Media. PVR Inox has bagged the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the film.
On the work front, actor Jiiva will soon have a release in Golmaal scripted by Pon Kumaran in which he has co starred with actors Shiva, Payal Rajput, Tanya Hope, and Malavika. The Varalaru Mukkiyam actor is currently busy shooting for his upcoming ventures Gemini Ganesan helmed by Muthukumar, and for a Telugu flick Kannappa crafted by Mukesh Kumar Singh in which he will be seen alongside actor Vishnu Manchu. On the other hand, actor Arjun will have his next outing in Tamil through Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga helmed by Dinesh Lakshmanan in which he has shared screen space with actress Aishwarya Rajesh, and a Kannada entertainer Seetha Payanam crafted by himself with actors Niranjan Sudhindra, Aishwarya Arjun, Prakash Raj, and Sathyaraj essaying lead roles.
