Actor Ashok Selvan ventured into Tamil cinema with the classic black comedy film Soodhu Kavvum which hit the screens under the direction of director Nalan Kumarasamy with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The flick shattered box office records for an underdog project. The success of the drama brought him a lead role in Pizza 2: Villa. Unfortunately, the project tanked commercially. However, his next venture, the neo noir mystery thriller flick Thegidi filmed by P. Ramesh catapulted him as a bankable lead hero in Kollywood. Now, the actor who was last seen on screens in Hostel is gearing up for the release of his upcoming venture christened Nitham Oru Vaanam. The flick is scripted by debutant storyteller R. Karthik. Actresses Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali, and Sshivada will be seen as the female leads. Now, we have an interesting update on the drama.Â
The entertainer which went on floors a long time ago has finally been wrapped and is getting fine tuned in the post production for release. Now, the makers have announced that the entertainer will soon come to the theaters. Actor Ashok Selvan himself has announced the news on social media. Taking to his official twitter account the actor shared a few posters from the flick introducing its female characters and wrote, “The three beautiful talented women of Nitham Oru Vaanam coming soon!” Here is the post shared by the actor.Â
Nitham Oru Vaanam begins in Chennai and journeys to Pollachi, Hyderabad, Vizag, Delhi, Chandigarh, Manali, and Kolkata. Actor Ashok Selvan will be seen in three different looks. Actress Ritu Varma will play the role of a modern girl Subha, actress Aparna Balamurali will be seen in the role of a village girl Mathi, and actress Shivathmika Rajashekar as a college going girl Meenakshi. An announcement regarding the release date of the drama is expected to be made soon.Â
Apart from actors Ashok Selvan, Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali, and Shivathmika Rajashekar the casting department of the flick has actors Kaali Venkat, Abhirami, and Sshivada, essaying various other supporting roles. The music for the film is composed by music director Gopi Sundar. Cinematographer Vidhu Ayyanna has cranked the camera for the drama. The entertainer is trimmed by editor Anthony. The venture is bankrolled by Sreenidhi Sagar and P. Pupak Pranav Tej under the banner house Rise East Entertainment along with Viacom 18 Studios.Â
On the work front, actress Ritu Varma who was last seen on screens in Tamil in the anthology film Putham Pudhu Kaalai is waiting for the release of the spy drama Dhruva Natchathiram directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon in which she has shared the screen space with actors Vikram, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Simran. On the other hand, actress Aparna Balamurali who was last seen in Tamil in the comedy flick Veetla Vishesham in currently busy shooting for her next Malayalam project Ula helmed by director Praveen Prabharam, for Padmini directed by storyteller Senna Hegde in which she will be sharing the screen space with actor Kunchacko Boban, for Mindiyum Paranjum scripted by Arun Bose in which she will be seen alongside actor Unni Mukundan, and for Kaapa filmed by Venu in which she has collaborated with actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. Apart from these projects, the actress has a Malayalam venture christened Ini Utharam directed by Sudheesh Ramachandran in the post production shaping up for release.Â
