Actor Guru Somasundaram fell in the attention of Tamil cinema audience right away with his critically acclaimed performance in his debut drama Aaranya Kaandam crafted by auteur Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The actor backed it with even further brilliant performances in Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda and Raju Murugan’s Joker. These performances quickly catapulted him to the stature of one of the finest artists of Tamil cinema. The Yaathisai star last appeared on screens in the crime thriller Bayamariya Brammai helmed by Rahul Kabali which was released earlier this year. Now, the actor is getting ready for yet another release this year in the likes of Bottle Radha. Film maker Dhinakaran Sivalingam has penned and directed the flick. Actress Sanchana Natrajan of Irudhi Suttru fame has essayed the female lead role in the entertainer.

The makers have now launched the teaser of the flick on social media. Actor Arya has unveiled the teaser. Taking to his official X account, the Sarpatta Parambarai star shared the teaser of Bottle Radha and wrote, “Take a glimpse into the life story of the wildest troublemaker in town. It’s gonna be a fun filled and emotional ride. Here’s the teaser of Bottle Radha. A film by Dhinakaran Sivalingam. A Sean Roldan musical. Starring Guru Somasundaram, Sanchana Natrajan, John Vijay, Maaran, Antony, Pari Elavazhagan. A minute or so teaser gives us a glimpse of actor Guru Somasundaram struggling with his liquor addiction with a pinch of dark humor. It also throws in a few shots of grisly action blocks promising not to be devoid of action. Bottle Radha is expected to hit the theaters by early August. Talking to a leading daily about the movie director Dhinakaran Sivalingam said, “The story of Bottle Radha is about a mason played by Guru sir who turns into an alcoholic which ruins his life and drives away people who are dear to him. It is about how this character navigates these struggles and finds redemption.” Speaking further he added, “If you look at Hollywood classic Shawshank’s Redemption it portrays the struggle of redemption of a man from external forces. In Bottle Radha it is a contrast. It will be a struggle of a man with himself. His internal self. Though there are some quite poignant and emotional moments in the plot, I was very cautious not to make it too emotional. I want the audience to have fun when they watch it. I did not wish to take away the rewatch value out of it.”
The casting crew has put together a talented group of artists for Bottle Radha that includes actors John Vijay, Maaran, Antony, Pari Elavazhagan, Arumugavel, Abhi Ramaiyah, J P Kumar, K S Karuna, Prasad, Malathi Ashok Nawin, Suhasini Sanjeev, Siranjivi, Oviyar Sow Senthi, Naveen George Thomas, Aneesha, Madhavi Raj, Kaala Kumar, Anbarasi, and Shegar Narayana. Music director Sean Roldan of ‘Kadhal Kanave’ fame has composed music for the film. Cinematographer Roopesh Shaji has cranked the camera for the flick. Editor E Sangathamizhan has worked in the editing department. Art director A Raja has designed the background. The movie is produced by Pa Ranjith under the banner house Nelam Productions and by T N Arunbalaji for Balloon Pictures.
On the work front, actor Guru Somasundaram will next be seen on screens in the Malayalam fantasy drama Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure helmed by Mohanlal who will also be playing the lead in the entertainer.
