Actor Yogi Babu is one of the few artists in Tamil cinema to successfully swing between playing a comedian and headlining an entertainer. The Oh My Ghost actor had a release last month through the action thriller Haraa filmed by G Vijay Sri which saw veteran actor Mohan return to Tamil cinema after a long gap. The Boomer Uncle star will soon have his next release by means of his web series titled Chutney Sambar. The series will mark the debut of actor Yogi Babu as lead hero in digital space. Chutney Sambar is poised to stream in the Disney + Hotstar Tamil OTT platform soon. Story teller Radha Mohan of Abhiyum Naanum fame has directed the film. He has co written the script of the series along with writer Pon Parthiban. Actress Vani Bhojan of Oh My Kadavule fame will be seen in a pivotal role in the series.
The production house recently launched the teaser of the web series on social media. Taking to their official X account, Disney + Hotstar Tamil dropped the teaser of the series and wrote, “Fun Flavor Family. Chutney Sambar is a game of survival between Amudha Café, popular in its vicinity for its scrumptious Sambar, and Amudha Unavagam, famous among people for its mouthwatering Chutney. A distressing situation drives them to trade their secret Chutney and Sambar recipes with one another. This sets in motion a chain of funnier events for both businesses to deal with. The teaser has been meticulously tailored to lay proper ground work among the audience. It effectively throws in the gist of the plot, piques our interest, and leaves us waiting for more.
Casting unit of Chutney Sambar includes Nithin Sathya, R Sundarrajan, Charlie, Kumaravel, Illango, Mynaa Nandini, Krish Hassan, Deepa Shankar, Samyuktha Vishwanath, Ilan, Akilan, and Keshav Raj. Music director Ajesh Ashok of Super Singer fame has composed music for the series. Cinematographer Prasanna S Kumar has been behind the lens. The editing department has been handled by editor Jijendran Ji. Art director K Kadhirr has engineered sets for the flick. Chutney Sambar is produced by Ishari K Ganeshan for his production company Vels Film International.
On the work front, actor Yogi Babu is currently shooting for his next project Medical Miracle under the direction of film maker K Johnson. He will be sharing the screen space with actress Dharsha Gupta of Cook with Comali fame. The Panni Kutty star has a bunch of big budget dramas in the pipeline to hit the screens. Starting from actor Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time helmed by Venkat Prabhu, Suriya’s Kanguva directed by Siva, and Prashanth’s Andhagan crafted by Thiagarajan. On the other hand, actress Vani Bhojan is waiting for the release of her upcoming projects Pagaivanuku Arulvai helmed by storyteller Anees in which she has played the love interest of actor Sasi Kumar and Aaryan crafted by K Praveen in which she has co starred with actors Vishnu Vishal and Shraddha Srinath.
