Chutney Sambar Was A Memorable Experience: Nithin Sathya

Actor Nithin Sathya was one of the artists of the rookie gang that flabbergasted Tamil cinema audiences in the year 2007 with their remarkable film Chennai 600028. The success of the entertainer took actor Nithin Sathya for a ride in Kollywood including roles as lead hero. The actor had his last outing in a supporting role in Saran’s directorial Market Raja MBBS. He is soon set to make his debut in the digital space with his upcoming web series Chutney Sambar. Actor Yogi Babu has played the lead part. While actress Vani Bhojan of Oh My Kadavule fame has essayed a key role. Radha Mohan of Abhiyum Naanum fame has directed the series. He has penciled the script of Chutney Sambar along with writer Pon Parthiban. The web series will premiere on the Disney + Hotstar Tamil OTT platform from 26th of July this year.

Actor Nithin Sathya who has played a pivotal part in the series recently sat down for an interview with a leading daily to promote the series. Speaking about returning to acting, he expressed, “I am making a comeback to acting after an extended break with Chutney Sambar. My first schedule was in Chennai at a beach house in ECR. From my first shot I was quite comfortable. I did not have a feeling that I quit acting for a while. The credit entirely goes to my guru Vasanth sir from whom I have picked up many acting lessons.” The actor was full of praise for his director. Detailing about his prowess he said, “This is my first association with Radha Mohan. We had a good rapport from our first meeting. He is a great human being with a spectacular sense of humor. His comical sense is a familiar factor to the audience. But the interesting thing is he gave us a lot of freedom to perform. His dialogues were already super witty. But whenever there was some good improvisation between me and Yogi Babu, he would encourage it and amalgamate those lines into the scene.” 

Talking about his experience working with the artists, he expressed, “Me and Yogi Babu go a long way back. While shooting for the series we used to play cricket during the break. We hurl playful banters at each other. I sledge Yogi Babu saying that he does not have a chance to win against me. He concurred but then knew I was cheating on the scores. He just could not prove it. I have known Vani Bhojan since Lock Up. Kayal Chandran is my buddy. So, it was like being with a gang of friends on set. We would have lunch together. We had a good bond that transfigured into excellent chemistry on screen. It was a fun experience.” 

Chutney Sambar also has actors R Sundarrajan, Charlie, Kumaravel, Illango, Ilan, Akilan, Mynaa Nandini, Deepa Shankar, Krish Hassan, Samyuktha Vishwanath, Kayal Chandran, and Keshav Raj essaying various supporting parts. Music director Ajesh Ashok of Super Singer fame has scored music for the series. Cinematographer Prasanna S Kumar has been behind the lens. Editor Jijendran Ji has edited the flick. Art director K Kadhirr has erected sets for the movie. The project is produced by Ishari K Ganeshan for his production label Vels Film International. 

On the professional front, Nithin Sathya will soon collaborate with story teller S Suresh for their upcoming movie Koduvaa with actress Samyuktha Shanmughanathan in the female lead.
