Actor Dhanush is all geared up to hit the half century landmark in his career. His upcoming film Raayan will mark the actor’s 50th movie. Sturdily announcing his arrival into Tamil cinema with his remarkable debut in Thulluvadho Ilamai the actor has come a long way. We wish the star all the very best on his 50th adventure. More than the 50th film milestone, what makes Raayan special is that the Aadukalam actor has written and directed the drama himself. Actors Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram play younger brothers of Dhanush in Raayan, while actress Dushara Vijayan essays the part of his sister. The post production work for the project is near completion. The makers have announced that Raayan is slated to hit the theaters on July 16th.
Audio launch event of Raayan is set to take place on 6th of July. The production company has officially announced the news on social media. Taking to their official X account the production house dropped a video of actor Dhanush addressing his fans, and worded, “The countdown begins! Following the audio launch event on 6th of July it is set to be telecasted in sun television network. The Vada Chennai star had previously helmed Pa Paandi with actors Raj Kiran and Revathi in the lead roles. The movie received widespread acclamations. Hence, the hype around Raayan is massive. Actor Dhanush beefed up a bit for his part in the flick. Recent years have been tough on the actor both professionally and personally. He is banking on Raayan a lot to unshackle himself and get back into a good momentum to bring his career back on track.
A lot of Dhanush’s co-stars from Raayan have heaped praises on him. In a recent interview, actor S J Suryah had stated, “Dhanush has great command over his craft. He is exceptional at conception, bringing it out in dialogues, camera angles & movements, and extracting performances from his artists.” Speaking about his part he revealed, “Every character in Raayan has equal weightage. I think Dushara Vijayan’s part will be impressive. Followed by Dhanush’s and then possibly my character.” Actress Dushara Vijayan had expressed that Dhanush has an unbelievable energy as a director.
Raayan has an ensemble cast that includes actors S J Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Aranthangi Nisha, Anikha Surendran, Saravanan, and Dushyanth Ramkumar. Oscar recipient A R Rahman has scored music for the drama. So far two singles titled ‘Adangaatha Asuran’ and ‘Water Packet’ have been released from the album. Ace cinematographer Om Prakash has operated cameras for the film. The editing division is overseen by editor G K Prasanna. Stunt master Peter Hein has choreographed action moves for the flick. The entertainer is funded by Kalanithi Maran under his banner house Sun Pictures.
On the work front, actor Dhanush’s next project would be Kubera, set to be helmed by story teller Sekhar Kammula. Actress Rashmika Mandanna has been booked to play the love interest of actor Dhanush in the movie.
