Actor Dhanush had his last outing earlier this year in Captain Miller crafted by Arun Matheswaran. The entertainer registered a decent commercial success. The actor will soon have his next release of the year in the action crime thriller Raayan which will be his 50th film. He has penned and helmed the entertainer himself. Actors Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram will be seen as younger brothers of Dhanush in Raayan, while actress Dushara Vijayan plays the role of his younger sister. The audio launch function of the flick recently took place in Chennai. It is officially announced that Raayan will be out in theaters on 26th of July this year.
The makers have now released the trailer of the drama on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Prakash Raj dropped the trailer of Raayan and wrote, “Raayan trailer out now. Wonderful to work with you again dear Dhanush wish you the best for your dream Raayan. All the best to the entire team. Sun Picture. A R Rahman. Raayan is touted to be a gangster saga built on a gory revenge premise. The trailer opens to Selvaraghavan’s character asking young Raayan to name the most dangerous animal in the jungle. He is named Lion. He responds, “Lion and tiger are the mightiest animals in the jungle. But the most dangerous animal is the wolf. In case of a one-on-one fight the lion will smash the wolf. But the wolf is shrewd. It moves around in a herd. It would maneuver around the lion and kill it.” Then we have a shot of actor S J Suryah huffing, “If he is man enough tell him to come and slay me here.” The trailer ends with Dhanush and his brothers behind him standing in an intimidating way. Dhanush is said to have high hopes for the movie. The Aadukalam actor had muscled up a bit to play his part in the drama.
The ensemble cast of Raayan also has Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, Jayaram, Aranthangi Nisha, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Anikha Surendran, Saravanan, and Dushyanth Ramkumar essaying various supporting roles. Raayan has music by A R Rahman. Cinematographer Om Prakash has cranked camera. Editor G K Prasanna has been brought on board to bring coherence to the flick. Action director Peter Hein has choreographed action blocks. The film is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran for his production house Sun Pictures.
On the professional front, actor Dhanush will soon join the sets of story teller Sekhar Kammula for their movie Kubera. Actress Rashmika Mandanna will be seen in the female lead role in the entertainer.
