Actor Dhanush who went for a short ride in the world cinema with his supporting role in the Hollywood entertainer The Gray Man returned to Tamil cinema with his romedy drama Thiruchitrambalam which hit the screens under the directorial of film maker Mithran R Jawahar with actresses Nithya Menen, Raashi Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar as female leads. The movie opened up to mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. Now, the actor is currently busy shooting for his upcoming Tamil Telugu bilingual drama christened Vaathi. The Telugu version of the movie has been titled Sir. The action flick is written and directed by story teller Venky Atluri. The project which went on floors at the beginning of this year has reached its final leg of shooting.
Now, we have news that the production unit is planning on bringing the entertainer to the theaters during the eve of Christmas. The project which is in the final leg of shoot is set to be wrapped up soon and sent to the post production. The post production is scheduled for a period of two to three months. The production house dropped the first look poster of the entertainer on social media last month, which had actor Dhanush in a vintage look sitting on a desk and seriously writing stuff under the light of a table lamp. The first look poster got the attention of not only the fans of the actor but also the general audience. It is said that the movie is set in the backdrop of the 1980’s where actor Dhanush plays the role of Balamurugan, a tutor who fights the education mafia pushing for completely privatizing the education system. If this is to be believed, it indeed seems like an interesting premise. This news is sure to up the expectations of the audience on the flick.

Besides actor Dhanush, Vaathi has actress Samyuktha Menon of Kalari fame essaying the female lead role. The casting department of the flick has actors P. Sai Kumar, Shrutika, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadi, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi, and Praveena portraying various other supporting roles. Music director G. V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music for the drama. Actor Dhanush and G. V. Prakash Kumar is coming together for a project for the sixth time. Cinematographer J Yuvaraj will be shouldering the camera for the entertainer. Editor Naveen Nooli has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the project. The movie is bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi for the banner house Sithara Entertainments along with Sai Soujanya for the production house Fortune Four Cinemas.
On the work front, actor Dhanush who was last seen on screens in the romantic comedy flick Thiruchitrambalam is currently busy shooting for his next venture titled Captain Miller which is directed by story teller Arun Matheswaran, and for a project that is tentatively titled D 46 under the direction of film maker Sekhar Kammula. Apart from these ventures, the actor has Naane Varuven helmed by director Selva Selvaraghavan in the post production getting shaped for release. On the other hand, actress Samyuktha Menon who was last seen on screens in the Kannada film Gaalipata 2 is currently busy shooting for her next Malayalam venture Boomerang filmed by Manu Sudhakaran in which she will be sharing the screen space with actor Shine Tom Chacko.
