Finally dual hero subjects are on the rise in Tamil cinema and even the leading actors are beginning to show keen interest to do multi starrer flicks. This is indeed a great sign for Tamil cinema and also for the fans of the stars. We have had many multi starrer flicks in the recent times after the mega success of the crime drama Vikram Veda and next in that line it will be Kalathil Sandhippom that will be hitting the screens with actors Jiiva and Arulnithi in the lead roles. Actor and producer Dhanush has shared the first look poster of the movie on social media.
Now the director of the flick N. Rajasekar has recently opened up about the venture in a recent media interaction. Speaking about the flick, the director says, “The story has all elements in it romance, humor, action and unexpected twists that are necessary for a complete entertainer. The story is about two individuals who are best friends from childhood. But the interesting factor is that they are opposite poles in term of character. While one is very emotional and gets in to fight for anything that he thinks is right, the other will be with the carefree attitude and with a great sense of humor. There will be absolutely nothing in common between them in life be it political views or approach towards life. Everything will be quite opposite and the drama will explore what keep them together in spite of the contrast characters.”
Further speaking about the characters that the actors portray, the story teller states, “Actors Jiiva and Arulnithi will be playing the role of Kabaddi players. Even in the sport you will see the difference between them as one plays the defense position while the other plays the offence. But the flick is not about Kabaddi. I do not what to reveal too much at this point as it will break the suspense in the film. Let the audience enjoy it in the theaters.” The entertainer is said to be set at the backdrop of Karaikudi where the craze for the sport is way high. The movie has been shot in Chennai, Karaikudi and Thenkasi. The drama has now entered the post production stage and is getting shaped up for its release. The movie is expected to hit the screens in the month of September.
The motion picture is bankrolled by none other than actor Jiiva’s dad R. B. Choudary under his home banner Super Good Films. The musical instruments for the flick will be handled by musical magician Yuvan Shankar Raja. Apart from actors Jiiva and Arulnithi, the entertainer has Manjima Mohan and Priya Bhavanishankar in the female lead roles while actors Robo Shankar, Bala Saravanan, Renuka and Aadukalam Naren will be seen in various other supporting roles.
On the work front, actor Jiiva who is gearing up for the release of his next film Gypsy directed by Raju Murugan, is busy shooting for his next venture titled as Seeru under the directorial of Rathina Siva. On the other hand, Arulnithi is busy shooting for his untitled project with Seenu Ramasamy.
