Actor Rio Raj began his career as a video jockey in a popular television channel and gained a decent following for himself. His fame soon bagged him a supporting role in Vikram Prabhu’s Sathriyan. He turned a lead hero in his sophomore project Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja. The Broken Script star was last seen on screen in Joe directed by S Hariharan Ram with actress Malavika Manoj as female lead. The project did not live up to the expectations that it stimulated. Despite a bunch of films to his name, he is yet to taste a solid box office success. The Plan Panni Pannanum actor is looking to rewrite that record with his upcoming venture christened Aanpaavam Pollathathu. Debutant director Kalaiarasan Thangavel has written and directed the entertainer. Writer Sivakumar has penned dialogues for the film. Actress Malavika Manoj, who romanced actor Rio Raj in their last outing Joe, has once again been paired with the actor in the flick.
The makers have now released the first look motion poster of the flick on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Vijay Sethupathi shared the first look motion posters of Aanpaavam Pollathathu in both Tamil & English and wrote, “ஆண்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக , ஆறுதலாக பேச, தில்லாக களமிறங்கும் தம்பி Rio Raj, அந்த தில்லுக்கு துட்டு கொடுக்கும் Drumsticks Productions, இயக்குனர் Kalaiarasan T, Blacksheep, அனைவருக்கும் வாழ்த்துக்கள்! The 50 seconds odd first look motion poster of Aanpaavam Pollathathu opens with a remix of a vintage classic song to a shot from Tom & Jerry where Tom bows to Jerry. We are then introduced to three versions of the female lead Malavika Manoj. In the first, she appears chic in a traditional attire wearing shades, in the second, she looks enraged screaming in a megaphone, and in the final one, she looks cool playing a guitar. Then we have the poster of actor Rio Raj which has different versions of Malavika Manoj drilling his head with a drilling machine. The shoot for the entertainer was wrapped last year, and has been in the post production since. The production house is currently making moves to bring the movie to theaters in the month of May.
Apart from Rio Raj and Malavika Manoj, the casting crew of Aanpaavam Pollathathu also has actors Vedikkaranpatti S Sakthivel, Sheela Rajkumar, Jenson Dhivakar, and RJ Vigneshkanth essaying pivotal supporting roles. Music director Siddhu Kumar, who previously composed music for Rio Raj’s Joe, will be handling musical gears for the entertainer. Cinematographer Madhesh Manickam has been behind camera for the movie. Editor K G Varun has been roped in to edit the flick. Art director Meevin has designed sets for the project. Stunt master N G Arjun has choreographed action moves for the venture. Aanpaavam Pollathathu is produced by Vedikkaranpatti S Sakthivel under the production banner Drumsticks Productions.
On the work front, actor Rio Raj is staring at consecutive releases in Niram Marum Ulagil helmed by storyteller J B Britto in which he has shared screen space with actors Bharathiraja, Natarajan Subramaniam, & Aadukalam Naren, and Sweetheart crafted by director Swineeth S Sukumar in which he has co starred with actors Gopika Ramesh, Fouzie Hidhaya, Tulasi Shivamani, Redin Kingsley, & Renji Panicker.
