Actor Bharath had his last outing via the hyperlink thriller drama Once Upon A Time In Madras directed by Prasadh Murugan with actresses Abirami, Pavithra Lakshmi, and Anjali Nair in key roles. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics, and had a tepid response from audiences. The Last 6 Hours actor is now occupied in his upcoming drama Kaalidas 2. Story teller Sri Senthil who wrote and helmed the first installment is repeating his role in the sequel as well. Actress Bhavani Sre of Viduthalai fame and Abarnathi of Maya Puthagam fame have essayed the female lead roles in the entertainer. Veteran actress Sangita is set to make her comeback in Tamil cinema nearly after two decades with a pivotal part in the film. The shooting for the drama is underway in full swing.
The makers have now released the first look poster of the movie on social media. Taking to his official X handle, actor Vijay Sethupathi shared the first look poster of Kaalidas 2 and captioned it, “Here is the first look of Kaalidas 2. Best wishes to the team! First look of Kaalidas 2 is retro styled with actors Bharath, Bhavani Sre, Abarnathi, Sangita, and Ajay Karthi seated adjacent to each other. Talking to a leading daily about the movie, director Sri Senthil said, “After the success of Kaalidas, I once again wanted to make a crime thriller about a police officer. Then it struck me why sketch a new cop character when I have the popular Kaalidas’s character in my hand. So, I decided to go for a sequel. The second installment will be a standalone story. The plot wades off from a typical thriller structure into more sort of a procedural film.”
Apart from Bharath, Bhavani Sre, Abarnathi, and Sangita, the casting crew of Kaalidas 2 also has actors Prakash Raj, Kishore, Ajay Karthi, Suresh Menon, Anant Nag, Raja Ravindra, and D M Karthik depicting various supporting roles. Music director Sam CS has been roped in to compose music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Suresh Bala will be behind camera for the drama. Editor Bhuvan Srinivasan has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the venture. Stunt master Om Prakash will be fashioning action moves for the flick. Art director V K Natarajan will be erecting sets for the projects. Kaalidas 2 is produced by K Senthil under his home banner Five Star partnering with N Yogeshwaran for the production company Sky Pictures Banner.
On the work front, actor Bharath is engaged in his upcoming untitled venture directed by M Guru in which he will be co starring with actors Sasikumar, Sathyaraj, Megha Shetty, & Malavika, and Munnarivaan crafted by Vijay Raj in which he will be romancing actress Janani. On the other hand, presently actress Bhavani Sre is busy shooting for her untitled project under the direction of Hiphop Tamizha Adhi in which she will be performing alongside Ananth Ram, and another untitled venture helmed by Dharani Rajendran in which she will be collaborating with actors Samuthirakani and Seyon Purushothaman.
