Actor Jiiva who was last seen on screens in Tollywood in the political fiction Yatra 2 is now gearing up for the release of his Tamil entertainer Black. Actor Arjun had his last outing in the Malayalam Tamil bilingual drama titled Virundhu helmed by Kannan Thamarakkulam with actress Nikki Galrani Pinisetty as female lead. Both the actors have now teamed up for a period drama horror thriller titled Aghathiyaa. Lyricist and director Pa Vijay who had crafted Strawberry and Aaruthra, has penned and directed the venture. Actress Raashi Khanna of Adanga Maru fame has been cast against the actor for the first time in her career. The entertainer has entered the post production stage. The production house has announced that the venture will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
The makers have now shared the first look poster of the flick on social media. Taking to his official X profile, actor Jiiva unveiled the first look poster of Aghathiyaa and captioned it, “Prepare for the raciest horror-thriller with a grand cinematic experience. Happy to release the First Look Of Aghathiyaa. A Pa Vijay mystery. A Yuvan Shankar Raja musical.” Here is the post made by the actor.

The first look poster of Aghathiyaa has actors Jiiva, Arjun, Raashi Khanna, and Edward Sonnanblick decked up in the attires of the 90’s. It has a tunnel as a metaphor to taking us back to the 90’s. The movie was initially titled as Methavi and was scheduled to go on floors back in 2020. But covid 19 complicated things and it got shelved. In 2023 director Pa Vijay renewed the project and announced the title as Aghathiyaa. Besides Jiiva, Arjun, and Raashi Khanna, the star cast of Aghathiyaa also has stars Edward Sonnanblick, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, VTV Ganesh, Indhraja Shankar, and Azhagam Perumal depicting various other supporting roles.
The technical side of the flick has music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja handling musical gears for the movie. Cinematographer Dipak Kumar Padhy has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor San Lokesh has been roped in to trim the entertainer. Art director P Shanmugam has fashioned the background for the project. Action director K Ganesh has designed action blocks. The project is backed by Ishari K Ganesh under his production label Vels Film International in collaboration with Aneesh Arjun Dev for his banner house Wide Angle Media.
On the professional front, currently actor Jiiva is busy shooting for his upcoming Telugu venture Kannappa helmed by director Mukesh Kumar Singh in which he will be teaming up with actor Vishnu Manchu for the first time. On the other hand, actor Arjun is currently engaged in his next movie Vidaa Muyarchi filmed by director Magizh Thirumeni in which he has once again associated with superstar Ajith Kumar after their superhit film Mankatha. Beside this drama, he also has Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga helmed by Dinesh Lakshmanan in which he has shared screen space with actress Aishwarya Rajesh in the post production stage.
