Actor Arun Vijay has not had a solid commercial success in quite some time. The Chekka Chivantha Vaanam actor had a release at the beginning of this year in Mission: Chapter 1 helmed by storyteller A L Vijay with actresses Amy Jackson and Nimisha Sajayan in the female lead roles. The drama was bestowed with negative reviews by critics and fell flat in the box office. The Yaanai actor is now gearing up for the release of his next project christened Vanangaan. Director Bala has penciled and directed the flick. Actress Roshni Prakash of Jada fame has portrayed the female lead part in the venture. The production house has officially announced that the entertainer will be released worldwide as a festive release on Pongal, January 10th 2025.
Director Bala who started his career in Tamil cinema through Vikram’s Sethu in 1999 has completed 25 years in Kollywood. Producer Suresh Kamatchi of Vanangaan arranged for a grand audio launch function to celebrate the occasion. The event was graced by celebrities Sivakumar, Surya, Sivakarthikeyan, Varalaxmi, Mani Ratnam, Seenu Ramasamy, Vikraman, Mysskin, and Mari Selvaraj. Speaking in the audio launch function, actor Surya credited Bala for laying a strong foundation for him in the industry. The production team has now shared the first single of the album on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Arun Vijay unveiled a poster from the movie along with a link to the first single ‘Irai Nooru’ from Vanangaan and captioned it, “X The soothing melody is here! Listen to Vanangaan’s first single. Streaming everywhere now. Iyakkunar Bala’s Vanangaan.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Singer Madhu Balakrishnan has lent his voice for the number. Lyricist Karthik Netha has written lyrics for the track. Musician G V Prakash Kumar has composed music for the song. The trailer of Vanangaan had an enraged Arun Vijay going on a retribution ride right away after being released from jail. Vanangaan was originally backed and headlined by Suriya and Krithi Shetty. The team began shoot for their first schedule. Sadly, Suriya had a difference of opinion with Bala during the shoot, and eventually opted out of the project.
The casting unit of Vanangaan also includes actors Samuthirakani, Brinda Sarathy, Mysskin, Bala Sivaji, Kavitha Gopi, Aruldoss, Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Mai Pa Narayanan, Yohan Chacko, Shanmugarajan, and Munish Sivagurunath. Music director Sam C S has composed the background score for the venture. Cinematographer R B Gurudev has shouldered camera for the movie. Editor Sathish Suriya has overseen the editing department of the flick. Art director R K Nagu has designed the background for the drama. Stunt man Stunt Silva has fashioned action moves. The film is bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi under his production label V House Productions partnering with Bala for his home banner B Studios.
On the work front, actor Arun Vijay will soon have a back-to-back release in Agni Siragugal scripted by director Naveen in which he has co starred with actors Vijay Antony and Akshara Haasan, Retta Thala filmed by storyteller Thiru Kumaran in which he has romanced actress Tanya Ravichandran, and Border directed by Arivazhagan.
