Actor Rajinikanth is the man of masses who has managed to hold on to the love of millions around the globe for nearly five decades. The Sivaji: The Boss star had lastly played an extended cameo role in his daughter Aishwarya’s directorial Lal Salaam which had actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles. He is now gearing up for the release of the 170th film of his career titled Vettaiyan. Story teller T J Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame has penciled and directed the film. Malayalam actress Manju Warrier has played the love interest of actor Rajinikanth in Vettaiyan. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will make his debut in Kollywood with his key part in the entertainer. Actor Rajinikanth recently wrapped his dubbing part for the movie. Vettaiyan will be out in theaters worldwide on 10th of October this year. It is set to be released in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
Music director Anirudh Ravichander who is handling the musical division of the entertainer announced last month the title of the first single from the album as ‘Manasilaayo’ and promised to release the song soon. As promised, he has now unveiled the number on social media. Taking to his official X handle, he dropped the lyrical video of Manasilaayo from Vettaiyan and captioned it, “Manasilaayo. Vettaiyan. Thalaivar Superstar Rajinikanth. The legendary Malaysia Vasudevan, Yugendran, and Deepthi Suresh.” Here is the post made by the musician.
Singers Malaysia Vasudevan, Yugendran, Deepthi Suresh, and Anirudh Ravichander have crooned the number. Lyricists Super Subu and Vishnu Edavan have penned the lyrics of the track. This is the fourth time music composer Anirudh Ravichander has teamed up with Rajinikanth for a project after their chartbuster albums in Petta, Darbar, and Jailer. Vettaiyan is hyped to be an action entertainer which will have the star essaying the part of a cop for umpteenth time in his long career. Vettaiyan will also mark the collaboration of superstars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan nearly after three decades following their last association in the Bollywood drama Hum. Not just the fans of the actors but the whole Indian cinema industry is waiting to catch them together on screens. The production team has shot the movie in and around the localities of Chennai, Tirunelveli, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
The star-studded cast of Vettaiyan includes actors Kishore, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ramesh Thilak, Abhirami, Ritika Singh, Rakshan, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, and G M Sundar. S R Kathir has overseen the cinematography department of the movie. Editor Philomin Raj has been brought on board to bring coherence to the movie. Art director K Kathir has engineered sets for the project. Action directors Anbu Arivu duo have fashioned action blocks. The drama is backed by Subaskaran Allirajah under his home label Lyca Productions.
On the professional front, actor Rajinikanth is currently engaged in his upcoming venture christened Coolie crafted by story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he will be co starring with actress Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj.
