Gifted artist Vaibhav was churning out projects at a faster pace for a while much to the envy of others in the industry. Of late the velocity has decelerated a bit. The Malaysia To Amnesia actor had his last outing earlier this year in Ranam Aram Thavarel crafted by Sherief with actresses Tanya Hope and Nandita Swetha in the female lead roles. He will soon be seen on screens in the upcoming movie titled Chennai City Gangsters. Storytellers Vikram Rajeshwar, son of popular director K Rajeshwar, and Arun Keshav have written and helmed the film. Actress Athulya Ravi of Murungakkai Chips fame has played the love interest of the actor. The entertainer is currently in the post production. The production team is working to secure a date for its release. An update regarding the same is expected to be made soon.
The audio launch event of the drama took place recently in Chennai which was graced by actor Arun Vijay. The makers have now unveiled the first single christened ‘Meyya Mummari’ from the project on social media. Taking to their official X account, the Production team dropped the first single of Chennai City Gangsters and captioned it, “Get in to the vibe now, along with the gang! Meyya Mummari, the first single from Chennai City Gangsters out now! An Imman Musical.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
Singer Karthik has lent his voice for the number. Lyricist Karthik Netha has penned the lyrics of the song. Chennai City Gangsters is touted to be a comedy heist movie. The teaser of the flick which got released earlier this month showed actor Vaibhav along with his gang headed by Anandraj concocting a plan to rob a bank. Cast of Chennai City Gangsters also comprises actors Livingston, Anandraj, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, John Vijay, Sunil Reddy, Manikandan Rajesh, Redin Kingsley, Shihan Hussaini, and Ilavarasu. The musical division of the film has been handed over to music director D Imman. Cinematographer Tijo Tomu has shouldered cameras for the venture. Editor Suresh A Prasad has been trusted with the editing department. Art director Arun Shankar Durai has fashioned sets for the flick. Stunt master Don Ashok has choreographed action moves. Chennai City Gangsters is backed by Bobby Balachandran for the production label BTG Universal Production.
On the professional front, actor Vaibhav is awaiting release of the much-anticipated film of the year GOAT – The Greatest Of All Time helmed by Venkat Prabhu in which he has shared screen space with actor Vijay, and his long-delayed project Aalambana crafted by Pari K Vijay in which he will be seen alongside actress Parvati Nair. On the other hand, actress Athulya Ravi will soon be seen on screens in her next project Diesel directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy in which she has played the love interest of actor Harish Kalyan.
