Thangalaan is one of the most anticipated films of this year. There has been quite a buzz around the project ever since the first look of actor Vikram was out on social media. For his part, story teller Pa Ranjith has been fueling up expectations by releasing posters, behind the scenes clips and pictures from the shooting spot with his artists at regular intervals. Actresses Malavika Mohanan, and Parvathy Thiruvothu will be treating us to a spectacle in Thangalaan along with actor Vikram. Tamil Prabha has offered his assistance in writing the script of Thangalaan. The dialogues of the film are written by Azhagiya Periyavan. The makers have officially announced that the movie will be out in theatres on Independence day of this year.
The production unit has now unveiled the first single ‘Minikki Minikki’ from the album of the entertainer on social media. Taking to his official X profile, music director G V Prakash Kumar shared the song and wrote, “Minikki Minikki is here. Feel the celebration of souls from the world of Thangalaan. Lyrics of Minikki Minikki are penned by lyricist Uma Devi. Singer Sinduri Vishal has crooned the number. Thangalaan is touted to be a historical action drama set in the pre-independence era during the British’s colonisation of India. It is said to cast light on the dimmed history of the sufferings and sacrifices of the oppressed community in the quest for gold in KGF (Kolar Gold Fields). The production house had recently released the trailer of the entertainer on social media. It enjoyed a fantastic reception clocking millions of views, further skyrocketing expectations on the drama.
The casting of Thangalaan also has actors Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Vettai Muthukumar, Arjun Anbudan, and Sampath Ram essaying various supporting roles. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has handled the musical division of the entertainer. Kishor Kumar has been trusted with the cinematography department. Editor R K Selva has overseen the editing division. Art director S S Murthi has engineered sets. Action director Stunner Sam has designed action stunts. The project is funded by Pa Ranjith under his production house Neelam Productions, K E Gnanavel Raja for his home banner Studio Green, and Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Studios.
On the professional front, actor Vikram is currently engaged with his next venture titled Veera Dheera Sooran crafted by story teller S U Arun Kumar. Actress Dushara Vijayan of Sarpatta Parambarai fame will be sharing screen space with the actor. Apart from this, the Ponniyin Selvan actor will soon have a release in his long-awaited entertainer Dhruva Natchathiram Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. It has an ensemble cast with actors Ritu Varma, Simran, R Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, and Dhivyadharshini essaying various supporting parts.
