Actor Nakkhul opened his account in Kollywood by playing one of the leads in Shankar’s controversial film Boys. Despite garnering people’s attention, he could not sign any projects due to his excess weight. But the actor worked hard to shred weight and impressed the audience with his lead role in the romantic psychological thriller Kadhalil Vizhunthen crafted by P V Prasad with actress Sunaina in the female lead role. Following the success of the flick he had a good run for a couple of years before he ran into bad luck. The Naan Rajavaga Pogiren actor was last seen on screens back in the year 2018 in the action-comedy Sei directed by Raj Babu. Nearly after six long years the Maasilamani actor is all set to make his comeback to Tamil cinema this year with his political satire movie christened Vasco Da Gama. Actress Arthana Binu of Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu 2 fame will be seen in the female lead part. Film maker R G Krishnan has penned and helmed the flick. The makers have already publicized that Vasco Da Gama will be out in theaters on 2nd of August.
The production house has begun to promote the entertainer. They recently released the trailer of the drama. Now in a closed event actor Sivakarthikeyan has unveiled the first song from the movie. Taking to his official X account, actor Nakkhul shared the link to the song along with a couple of snaps from the gathering and expressed his gratitude to the actor, “Thank you my dearest Sivakarthikeyan bro for releasing Vasco Da Gama’s first single ‘My Life My Rules’ sung by me. Actor Nakkhul himself has crooned the peppy number. Lyricist Vishnu Edavan has penned the lyrics. Music director N V Arun has composed music for the track. Vasco Da Gama is advertised to be a political satire drama set in a fictional world where the law and order is contrary to our contemporary world. It takes on the deception and double standards in society, and the expedient behavior of people for materialistic gains.
Vasco Da Gama’s casting includes actors K S Ravi Kumar, Vamsi Krishna, Anandraj, Mansoor Ali Khan, Munishkanth, T M Karthik, Redin Kingsley, Badava Gopi, Prem Kumar, Namo Narayana, and Ravi Mariya. The cinematography department has been handled by N S Sathish Kumar. The editing division has been handed over to editor Tamil Kumaran. Art director Ezhumalai Adikesavan has designed the background for the film. Action director Vicky has designed action blocks. Vasco Da Gama is bankrolled by Dato B Subaskaran & Datin Zaleha Abdul Rahim for their production label 5656 Productions.
