Actor Ajith Kumar has not had a single release in a year. He was last seen in the heist thriller flick Thunivu scripted by H. Vinoth with actress Manju Warrier in the female lead role. The film drew mixed reviews from critics. But did well commercially. After a lot of drama and an overseas bike trip, actor Ajith Kumar started to shoot for Vidaamuyarchi under the direction of storyteller Magizh Thirumeni of Thadaiyara Thaakka fame. The production team recently wrapped the shoot for the film. Actress Trisha Krishnan has been paired with the star after their celebrated onscreen chemistry in Ji, Kireedam, Yennai Arindhaal, and Mankatha. It was officially publicized that the entertainer would release on Pongal of this year. But the production unit has now announced that the release has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. A new release date is expected to be announced soon.
The makers had earlier released the trailer of the drama. Now they have unveiled the first single titled Sawadeeka on social media. Taking to their official X handle, Lyca Productions dropped a short lyrical video of the first single Sawadeeka and wrote, “AK is not just grooving, he is stealing hearts! Step on the floor and groove for Sawadeeka. An Anirudh Ravichander musical. Sung by Anthony Daasan. Written by Arivu. Choreography by Kalyan. Vidaamuyarchi. Efforts Never Fail. Vidaamuyarchi is based on Kurt Russell’s Hollywood movie Breakdown, crafted by Jonathan Mostow. Story teller Magizh Thirumeni is said to have made some changes to the script to better suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. Ever since the first look snap of the drama was out, there has been massive craze on the project among aficionados of the star. The trailer further amplified expectations. After their killer combo in Mankatha, action king Arjun Sarja has once again played baddie Ajith Kumar in the project. Actress Regina Cassandra has been cast as his pair.
The cast of Vidaamuyarchi also has big boss title winner Arav, Nikhil Nair, Sravan, Ganesh, Dasarathi, and Siddharth. Music director Anirudh Ravichander has partnered with actor Ajith Kumar for the third time in his career. Their previous works being the super hit albums Vedalam and Vivegam. The cinematography division of the flick has been taken care of by Om Prakash. The editing department of the venture has been handed over to editor N. B. Srikanth. Action director Supreme Sundar has choreographed action blocks for the entertainer. The project is funded by Subaskaran Allirajah for his production house Lyca Productions.
On the work front, actor Ajith Kumar is currently busy shooting for his upcoming action-comedy drama titled Good Bad Ugly filmed by director Adhik Ravichandran in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Trisha Krishnan, Prabhu, Prasanna, Arjun Das, and Yogi Babu. On the other hand, actress Trisha Krishnan has joined hands with filmmaker RJ Balaji for Suriya’s next venture tentatively christened Suriya 45. Beside this entertainer, the Brinda actress has Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam with Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan in lead roles, two Malayalam films titled Ram helmed by storyteller Jeethu Joseph in which she has romanced actor Mohanlal, Identity directed by Anas Khan and Akhil Paul in which she has co starred with Tovino Thomas, and a Telugu movie Vishwambhara filmed by Mallidi Vassishta in which she has teamed up with actor Chiranjeevi, in her pipeline waiting to hit theaters.
