Actor Jayam Ravi brilliantly pulled off the role of Arulmozhi Varman in the Ponniyin Selvan franchise. He brought a sense of royalty to the part with his towering presence ensuring he leaves behind a lasting impact. The Comali actor was last seen on screens earlier this year in Siren directed by Anthony Bhagyaraj. The Adanga Maru actor will soon have another release this year in the comedy drama christened Brother. Story teller M Rajesh has penned and directed the film. Actress Priyanka Mohan of Doctor fame has essayed the female lead part. Actress Bhumika Chawla of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame will return to Tamil cinema after a long gap with her pivotal role in Brother. The film is currently in the post production stage. An official release date for the flick is expected to be announced soon.
In the meantime, the makers have now released the first single from the movie on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Jayam Ravi dropped the first single ‘Makkamishi’ from Brother and wrote, “Take this! Take this! Take Everything! Vibe of Makkamishi from Brother. Paal Dabba has written the lyrics and has also lent his voice for the song. Dance master Sandy has choreographed dance moves for the number. Music director Harris Jayaraj has teamed up with Jayam Ravi after more than a decade. It is worth noting that their previous album Engeyum Kadhal was a super-duper hit. Story teller M Rajesh has amassed a fanbase for himself via his superhit comedy entertainers such as Siva Manasula Sakthi, Boss Engira Baskaran, and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. But his last outings have not been very successful. Hence, he has placed high hopes on Brother to bounce back to winning ways. Jayam Ravi has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. The star is going through a tough period. He is said to be banking a lot on Brother to take solace in his professional life.
Cast of Brother also includes actors Saranya Ponvannan, Natarajan Subramaniam, Rao Ramesh, VTV Ganesh, Sathish Krishnan, M S Bhaskar, Suresh Chakravarthy, Seetha, Achyuth Kumar, Yogi Babu, Master Ashwin, Robo Shankar, and Vriddhi Vishal. Cinematographer Vivekanand Santhosham will be behind the lens. Editor Abisish Joseph has been brought on board to bring coherence to the drama. Art director R Kishore has engineered sets. The project is produced by Siddharth Ravipati and Senthil Kumar for the banner house Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

The Agilan actor is currently shooting for his upcoming fantasy comedy film Genie helmed by newbie director Bhuvanesh Arjunan. Actresses Krithi Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshan have depicted the female lead roles in the drama. On the other hand, actress Priyanka Mohan is awaiting the release of her Telugu projects titled Saripodhaa Sanivaaram helmed by Vivek Athreya with Nani in lead, and Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG directed by Sujeeth.
