Actor Sundar C had his last outing earlier this year in the action crime thriller Vallan crafted by V R Mani Seiyon with actress Tanya Hope as female lead. The Murattu Kaalai actor is now gearing up for the release of his next action-comedy flick Gangers. He has also penciled and crafted the entertainer. He has teamed up with celebrated comedian Vadivelu nearly after a 15-year gap for this film. Actress Catherine Tresa of Madras fame has been cast against the actor in the drama. The production house has already announced that the entertainer will be releasing on 24th of April this year. The makers have now shared the trailer of the flick on social media. Taking to their official X profile, the production team of Avni Cinemax unveiled a special poster from the movie and wrote, “The OGs are back to take over the new era with GANGERS. Get a peek into their mad-fun world with the Gangers Trailer. Watch Gangers From April 24.” Here is the post made by the production house.
Nearly three minute trailer of Gangers opens to a voiceover, “Looks like someone is after all of us in the family. He beat me up while I was drunk. Then he came in disguise to attack you and burn down the factory. He is using the festival to mess with us.” Then we have the intro of Sundar C who introduces himself, “I am the new PT master for the school.” The shot cuts to the headmaster of the school welcoming him, “Welcome to our school, Saravanan. You have joined us through merit. But we already have a PT master, who joined through the management quota.” We are introduced to actor Vadivelu as the PT master. Following which we see a cop informing a gangster, “There is an undercover officer from the commissioner’s office spying on you.”
We then have a few shots of actor Vadivelu trying to woo actress Catherine Tresa. There is a plot twist when Sundar C reveals his true intention, “They have stashed the money looted for three years. I am going to steal those 100 crores. For that, I need your help. Help me with this, and you can all share the loot.” To which actor Vadivelu responds, “If I am getting crores, I am fine with doing clownery and buffoonery. Let the game begin.” The trailer ends with actor Hareesh Peradi asking actor Vadivelu disguised as an old man, “The hand looks young, but the face is old.” To which he quips, “Oh that? I do lower neck yoga.”
Casting crew of Gangers also include actors Bagavathi Perumal, Vani Bojan, Munishkanth, Arul Doss, Hareesh Peradi, Mimi Gopi, Esakki Krishnasamy, and Vichu Viswanath. Music director C Sathya has composed music for the flick. Cinematographer E Krishnasamy has shouldered camera for the drama. Editor Praveen Antony has been signed in to trim the movie. Art director R Saravana Abiraman has fashioned sets for the project. Action director Stunner Shyam has designed action blocks. Gangers is produced by Khushbu and Sundar C for their home production Avni Cinemax. ACS Arun Kumar will present the movie under the production label Benzz Media Pvt Ltd.
On the work front, actor Sundar C is occupied in his next project One 2 One scripted by K Thirugnanam in which he will be collaborating with actors Anurag Kashyap and Nitu Chandra. Beside this film, he is helming Mookuthi Amman 2 with actresses Nayanthara & Regina Cassandra in the lead roles, and the third installment of the popular Kalakalappu franchise. On the other hand, actor Vadivelu is engaged in his future films Maareesan crafted by Sudheesh Shankar in which he will be associating with Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil again following their successful collaboration in Maamannan, and Comedy Cowboy directed by Nalan Kumarasamy.
