Actor Guru Somasundaram is one of the best performers in K town. His back-to-back fantastic recitals in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Aaranya Kaandam, Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda, and Raju Murugan’s Joker stand as a corroboration to his prowess and helped elevate his ranks to great highs. The Vanjagar Ulagam star had his last outing earlier this year in the crime thriller Bayamariya Brammai helmed by director Rahul Kabali. The actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming dark comedy flick titled Bottle Radha. Director Dhinakaran Sivalingam has penned and helmed the entertainer. Actress Sanchana Natrajan of Irudhi Suttru fame has been paired against the star in the flick. The entertainer is currently undergoing post production works.
The makers have now officially announced the release date of the movie on social media. Taking to his official X profile, filmmaker Pa Ranjith dropped a poster from Bottle Radha and captioned it, “Mark the date! An emotional and chaotic storm is on its way. Bottle Radha will be yours worldwide from December 20. Bottle Radha from Dec 20. A film by Dhinakaran Sivalingam. A Sean Roldan musical. The production house unveiled the teaser of the flick in the mid of this year which had actor Guru Somasundaram as an alcoholic who lands in all sorts of trouble which puts his family in distress. Talking about the film to a leading media house in the state, story teller Dhinakaran Sivalingam disclosed, “The story of Bottle Radha is about a mason depicted by Guru sir who turns into an alcoholic which ruins his life and drives away people who are dear to him. It is about how this character navigates these struggles and finds redemption.”
Besides actors Guru Somasundaram and Sanchana Natrajan, the casting unit of Bottle Radha also comprises John Vijay, Maaran, Suhasini Sanjeev, Aneesha, Malathi Ashok Nawin, Siranjivi, Antony, Oviyar Sow Senthi, Pari Elavazhagan, Madhavi Raj, Anbarasi, J P Kumar, K S Karuna, Arumugavel, Abhi Ramaiyah, Prasad, Naveen George Thomas, Kaala Kumar, and Shegar Narayana portraying various supporting roles. Music director Sean Roldan of ‘Kadhal Kanave’ fame has handled the musical division of the entertainer. First single titled ‘Yov Bottle – U’ penned by Bakkiyam and crooned by singers Gana Balamurugan, Gana Chella Muthu, and Gana Apelow is already out from the album. Roopesh Shaji has been trusted with the cinematography department. Editor E Sangathamizhan has been brought on board to oversee the editing division. Art director A Raja has engineered sets for the drama. Action director P C Stunts has designed action moves. Bottle Radha is backed by Pa Ranjith under his banner house Nelam Productions in collaboration with T N Arun Balaji for the production company Balloon Pictures.
On the professional front, actor Guru Somasundaram is staring at consecutive releases in Kudumbasthan directed by Rajeswar Kalisamy in which he will be seen alongside actor Manikandan and his Malayalam fantasy drama christened Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure filmed by Mohanlal who will also be playing the lead character in the project.
