Two minutes of odd short video opens to a voiceover, “The laser power technology. We should use this only in inhabitant places. If you defer and use it elsewhere . . .” We see a blast. Following which we see a gathering where a man asks, “What did you watch on Tv?” A woman answers, “I saw something exploded in blue color.” The man informs, “If the cable that runs through our village explodes the same thing will happen.” The woman says, “Fine, let it explode, we don’t care. You better play the Thirumagal serial.” The scene cuts to a character asking, “How do we make them understand?” Actor Hiphop Tamizha Adhi responds, “It’s possible. The Veeran can make it possible. Back in the day, the people of Veeranoor worshipped Veeran as Guardian-Lord. Even today, the worship temple and Veeran’s statue are buried and intact under Veeran’s temple.” The character asks, “Hey, how could you come up with a story so quickly?” A woman nearby retorts, “Hey, it’s the plot of Maragadha Naanayam.” The trailer has gone viral, and has clocked millions of views till date. It has set high expectations on the venture.
Veeran is said to be a fantasy thriller drama. The first look poster of the film had vivid likeness to blockbuster Malayalam fantasy movie Minnal Murali helmed by Basil Joseph with actors Tovino Thomas and Femina George in the lead roles. The poster had sparked speculations that the flick is a remake of Minnal Murali. But the production house had denied the rumors. Now, the trailer has annulled the gossip. Actor Hiphop Tamizha Adhi has not had a solid commercial success in a while. Whether Veeran ends his drought of success remains to be seen.
Apart from actor Hiphop Tamizha Adhi, Veeran has Malayalam actress Athira Raj who became popular for her role in the viral short film ‘Ethazhakaanu Nee’ depicting the female lead part. The casting division of the flick has actors Vinay Rai, Munishkanth, Kali Venkat, Sassi Selvaraj, Jeeva, Sadhana, and Muruganandham portraying various other supporting roles. Hiphop Tamizha Adhi himself has composed music for the project. Cinematographer Deepak D Menon has handled the cinematography department of the venture. Editor Prasanna G K has been roped in to edit the entertainer. Art director Rahul N K has designed the background for the flick. Stunt master Mahesh Mathew has choreographed action blocks for the drama. The movie is bankrolled by T G Thyagarajan along with Senthil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the production label Sathya Jyothi Films.
