I Will Get In To Farming If AI Takes Over Film Making: Vijay Antony

Actor Vijay Antony is known for his killer reputation of picking up commercially viable projects. But past few years have been quite hard on the star as he is finding it tad difficult to deliver an emphatic box office success. He was last seen on screens earlier this year in the romantic comedy drama Romeo directed by Vinayak. Within a short span, the actor is now all set for the release of his next film Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan. Actress Megha Akash of Enai Noki Paayum Thota fame will be seen in the female lead part. Director Vijay Milton of Goli Soda fame has written and helmed the movie. The entertainer also stars actors Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Murali Sharma, Daali Dhananjaya, Pruthvi Ambaar, and Thalaivasal Vijay. Technical crew has musician Achu Rajamani partnering with Vijay Antony, editor K L Praveen, and Vijay Milton himself behind camera.

In a recently held promotional event for the movie actor Vijay Antony sat down with his producer Dhananjayan to discuss the entertainer. Talking in the event about the film, producer Dhananjayan revealed, “A chain of unfortunate events forces the lead character into recluse. The protagonist does not speak with anyone for the first 35 to 40 minutes. What happened in his life, how he gets pulled into a nasty situation, and how he handles it is the crux of the story.” Speaking about the title of the drama, actor Vijay Antony said, “Whenever it rains, the hero gets into some sort of predicament. Hence, we felt this would be a suitable title.” Talking about why it took so long to work with his friend Milton he stated, “We talk often about it. I was supposed to do a movie titled Koyambedu in his direction. Sadly, it did not take off. But here we are finally.”

Since AI is the trend, the question of AI in cinema was put to the star. Responding to it he expressed, “I do not think AI can replace humans. It only makes our job more productive by removing mundane manual tasks. Say to record a song, you first need to record a voice, only then you can apply AI to it. I do not want to be negative about technology. We were hesitant to shift to motorcycles from bicycles in the beginning. But eventually we did.” On a humorous note, he added, “Even if AI makes us jobless. Let us take up farming.”

Infiniti Film ventures who are bankrolling the project recently shared the trailer of Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan on social media. Actor Vijay Antony took to his official X account and dropped the trailer of the flick. He captioned it, “The stylish and action-packed trailer of Vijay Antony’s Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan.” Here is the post made by the star.
