Actor Jayam Ravi had his last outing in the likes of Ponniyin Selvan part I in which he had depicted the role of renowned ancient Tamil king Arulmozhivarman. Despite running into a lot of controversy the drama amassed a massive collection worldwide. The actor who is basking in the success of Ponniyin Selvan is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming film christened Agilan. Director N. Kalyan Krishnan who had previously directed actor Jayam Ravi in the much raved about drama Bhooloham, has written and directed the entertainer. The movie which was wrapped by the middle of last year, is now ready for release.
Now, the production house has shared the trailer of the flick on social media along with its release date. Agilan is all set to hit the screens on 10th of March this year. Actor Jayam Ravi himself has unveiled the trailer. Taking to his official twitter handle, the actor dropped a poster from the entertainer along with a link to the trailer of Agilan, and wrote, “Bringing you all the Agilan trailer! A movie which I had put in lots of effort. Hope u all like it. Agilan in theaters from March 10!” Here is the tweet made by the actor.

Nearly two minute trailer cut opens to a wide angle shot of a sea. Then introduces its lead with the voice over, “Agilan is said to be the illegal king in the city.” We have a scene where Agilan says, “Feeling guilty, being grateful, loyalty, virginity, discipline, all were created by the society to keep us as slaves. Price of share market to onions purchased by ordinary man is decided by sea traffic.” From the trailer one can read that Agilan is based on harbor politics, and the fight for dominance in the Indian Ocean.
Apart from actor Jayam Ravi, Agilan has actresses Priya Bhavani Shankar and Tanya Ravichandran in the female lead roles. The casting department of the entertainer has actors Hareesh Peradi, Chirag Jani, Harish Uthaman, Tarun Arora, Elango Kumaravel, Shaan Kakkar, Aarash Shah, and Madhusudhan Rao portraying various other supporting parts. Music director Sam C. S has handled the musical division of the movie. Cinematographer Vivek Anand Santhosham has cranked the camera for the project. Editor Praveen Anthony has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the movie. Art director Vijay Murgan has designed the background for the film. Stuntman Miracle Micheal has choreographed action moves for the drama. The flick is bankrolled by Parthasarathy Gokulyadav, and Sundar Arumugam under the production label Screen Scene Media Entertainment.
On the work front, actor Jayam Ravi who was last seen on screens in the first installment of the epic historical film Ponniyin Selvan is getting ready for the release of the second installment of the drama. The actor is currently busy shooting for his upcoming venture christened Siren crafted by debutant story teller Antony Bhagyaraj in which he will be collaborating with actresses Keerthy Suresh and Anupama Parameshwaran, for Iraivan under the direction of story teller Ahmed in which he will be co starring with actress Nayanthara, and for an untitled project helmed by director M Rajesh. Apart from these ventures, the actor has Jana Gana Mana filmed by director Ahmed in which he will be seen alongside actress Taapsee Pannu in the post production getting refined for release.
On the other hand, actress Priya Bhavani Shankar who had her last outing in Thiruchitrambalam is currently busy shooting for the sequel of DeMonte Colony scripted by director R. Ajay Gnanamuthu in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Arulnithi, for the sequel of Indian helmed by Shankar in which she will be co starring with actor Kamal Hassan, for her next untitled Telugu flick helmed by Eashvar Karthic in which she will be seen alongside actor Satya Dev, and for a Telugu web drama Dootha filmed by Vikram Kumar in which she will be collaborating with actors Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. Apart from these projects, the actress has Bommai crafted by Radha Mohan in which she has associated with actor S J Surya, and Rudhran crafted by director S Kathiresan in which she has teamed up with actor Raghava Lawrence in various stages of post-production getting shaped for release.
