Actor Kaali Venkat won the hearts of Tamil cinema audience with his impressive performance in Vishnu Vishal’s Mundaasupatti. The Double Tuckerr actor had his last outing in Kurangu Pedal which hit the screens under the direction of Kamala Kannan. He is now gearing up for the release of his next project titled Dhonima. Actress Roshni Prakash of Yemaali fame has played the female lead part. Story teller Jagadeesan Subu has written and directed the movie. Writers Prabhu Pichaikaran and Maya Munieshwaran have offered their assistance in shaping the script. Dhonima is poised to hit the screens on 20th of September.
The makers have now shared the trailer of the drama on social media. Taking to her official X handle, actress Roshni Prakash unveiled the trailer of Dhonima and wrote, “Dhonima – The movie which pushed me out of my comfort zone. Many memories lived, many lessons learnt and an experience very dear to me. Presenting to you our labor of love. Two minutes long trailer of Dhonima opens to a mother, played by Roshni Prakash, telling an old man, “As soon as he wakes up, make him a boost. He cried the whole night asking for it.” The scene then cuts to her bringing home a golden retriever pup she found on a garbage load to her kid. We are then thrown shots of her working hard to support her family. Subsequently, we are given glimpses of her husband slacking around consuming alcohol. In the final portion of the trailer, we witness his recklessness pushing his family in to trouble. Dhonima is touted to be a poignant film about a hard-working woman who takes care of her family by working as a maid while dealing with her negligent alcoholic husband. Earlier talking to a leading media house about the film director Jagadeesan Subu said, “Dhonima is the name of a dog in the story. He is a key part in the flow. Kaali Venkat will be seen as an irresponsible alcoholic construction worker.”
Apart from actors Kaali Venkat, and Roshni Prakash, the casting unit of Dhonima has actors Vishav Raj, Vivek Prasanna, Kannan Ponnaiah, P L Thenappan, Aadukalam Stella, Rajesh Sharma, Kalki Rajan, Vichithiran, Rajamani, Maya Munieshwaran, Karthik Munees, Sasi, and Mogli k Mohan portraying various other supporting roles. The technical department of the flick has music director E J Johnson composing music. Cinematographers Packiaraj and Sajith Kumar have worked in tandem to capture the drama. Editor Tamil Arasan has been brought on board to trim the film. Art director M Madan has erected sets for the flick. Stuntman Fire Karthic has choreographed action moves. The entertainer is produced by Sai Venkateswaran for his home banner L & T Productions.
On the work front, actor Kaali Venkat will soon have his next release in Lubber Pandhu helmed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu with actors Harish Kalyan and Attakathi Dinesh in lead roles. On the other hand, actress Roshni Prakash is awaiting the release of her upcoming drama Vanangaan crafted by Bala in which she has shared screen space with actor Arun Vijay.
