Nalan Kumarasamy has directed Vijay Sethupathy’s next project Kaadalum Kadandhu Pogum and this is the reunion of Nalan and Vijay Sethupathi after Soodhu Kavvum. It should be noted that Soodhu Kavvum was a milestone in Vijay Sethupathy’s career and expectations were high for this project.
In Kaadalum Kadandhu Pogum, he has acted again as a rowdy and this is a complete remake of Korean movie “My Dear Desperado”. The female lead is done by Malayalam actress Madonna Sebastian. She is already a known face towards Tamil audience through ‘Premam’.
As per story, Madonna loses her IT job and so she moves to an apartment in slum area where Vijay Sethupathy resides near her flat he calls himself as a gangster. Despite their indifferences, he helps Madonna to get a job and at one stage he even fights for her as an IT company employee tries to misbehave with her. Things go smooth as love blossoms between them. But the climax was a dissimilar one. Watch out the movie in nearby screen to know the climax.
Dinesh Krishnan has done an exemplary job in cinematography and the locations were captured with perfect framings. Leo John Paul has done a clean job as editor. He has made the perfect editing and has created a scenario suitable for the pre-interval sequences. Music was composed by Santosh Narayan and the songs were below par. Vijay Sethupathi and Samuthirakani are the two pillars of the movie. Vijay Sethupathi has done a powerful role once again. After essaying role of a cop, he is now back to his forte. His Chennai slang can’t get better. Madonna Sebastian has done a neat job. But still she needs to mature a lot as an actress. She fails to emote in most of the scenes. Her face looks alienatic as she is looking a typical Malayalee.
Overall, ‘Ka Ka Ka Po’ is the perfect ‘Popcorn’ movie.
