Actor Karthi stormed his way into Tamil cinema with an extraordinary performance in Paruthiveeran. Feasting on many commercial successes, the actor reached the 25th movie milestone of his career with Raju Murugan’s Japan last year. Unfortunately, the venture did not do well in the box office as expected. The Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru star opened his account this year with his recent release Meiyazhagan. Filmmaker C Prem Kumar who had previously entertained audiences with the breezy romance drama 96, has written and directed the entertainer. Actress Sri Divya of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame has essayed the female lead role. Veteran actor Arvind Swamy has played the brother-in-law of actor Karthi. The flick which got released last weekend has opened to positive reviews and has been receiving acclamations from all directions.
The actor has now penned a heartfelt note on social media expressing his gratitude to the viewers for facilitating a stellar reception for Meiyazhagan. Taking to his official X account, actor Karthi wrote, “Dear friends! Meiyazhagan has actor Karthi essaying a character hailing from a rural background while Arvind Swamy plays the role of an individual from urban setup. The amusing bonding journey between both the in-laws makes the crux of the poignant story. Casting unit of Meiyazhagan comprises actors Jayaprakash, Rajkiran, Karunakaran, Rani Samyuktha, Swathi Konde, Raichal Rabecca, Sriranjani, Devadarshini, Ilavarasu, Meru Thodarchi Malai Antony, Saran Shakthi, Rajkumar, Kayal Subramani, Indumathy Manikandan, and Ashok Pandian. Music composer Govind Vasantha has scored music for the project. Cinematographer Mahendiran Jayaraju has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor R Govindraj has brought coherence to the entertainer. Art director S Ayyappan has designed sets for the drama. Action master Stunner Sam has choreographed action moves. The entertainer is produced by Suriya and Jyothika in collaboration with Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandiyan under their production house 2D Entertainment. Sakthi Film Factory’s B Sakthivelan has distributed the movie.
On the work front, actor Karthi will soon have his next release in Vaa Vaathiyaare directed by filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy. Actress Krithi Shetty has played the female lead role in the flick. The Paruthiveeran star is currently engaged in his next movie Sardar 2 directed by P S Mithran in which he will be co starring with actresses Malavika Mohanan, Rajisha Vijayan, and Ashika Ranganath.
