Actor Karthi has been quite a busy artist in Tamil cinema not just with his projects but also with acting body operations. The Kadaikutty Singam actor was last seen on screens in Japan crafted by Raju Murugan with actress Anu Emmanuel as female lead. He has not had a release this year yet. But soon he will open his account with his upcoming flick Meiyazhagan. Actress Sri Divya of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame has depicted the female lead part. Actor Arvind Swamy has essayed a pivotal role in the project. Story teller C Prem Kumar who had previously helmed 96, has written and directed the drama. The production house has officially announced that Meiyazhagan will hit the theaters on 27 of September.
The makers have begun to promote the film. As part of the promotion campaign, they have now launched the teaser of the entertainer on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Karthi dropped a poster from the movie along with a link to the teaser of Meiyazhagan and wrote, “Exemplary writing has the power to fully immerse us. One-minute odd teaser cut opens to actor Karthi’s character meeting his brother-in-law, played by Arvind Swamy, in a marriage function in Thanjavur. He incessantly keeps asking silly questions to him and Arvind Swamy finds it difficult to deal with him. Actor Karthi plays a character hailing from a rural setup while Arvind Swamy essays the part of an individual from urban background. The amusing bonding journey between the both makes up the whole teaser. The teaser promises a laugh riot in theaters and has enjoyed a great reception among audiences.
Apart from Karthi, Arvind Swamy, and Sri Divya, the casting unit of Meiyazhagan has actors Rajkiran, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran Shakthi, Raichal Rabecca, Meru Thodarchi Malai Antony, Rajkumar, Indumathy Manikandan, Rani Samyuktha, Kayal Subramani, and Ashok Pandian portraying various supporting roles. Meiyazhagan will have music by Govind Vasantha. The film marks the second association of the musician with director C Prem Kumar after their sensational album in 96. Cinematographer Mahendiran Jayaraju has cranked the camera for the flick. Editor R Govindraj has worked in the editing department. Art director S Ayyappan has designed the background for the flick. Stunt master Stunner Sam has choreographed action blocks. The project is produced by Suriya and Jyothika in collaboration with Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandiyan under the banner label 2D Entertainment. B Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory has bagged the distribution rights of the movie.
On the work front, actor Karthi will next be seen on screens in Vaa Vaathiyaare directed by Nalan Kumarasamy in which he has romanced actress Krithi Shetty. Currently he is busy shooting for the sequel of his hit drama Sardar under director P S Mithran. Actresses Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan have been booked to play the female lead roles in the drama.
