Actor Karthi who was recently caught in a political crossfire has put a peaceful end to the issue and is back to focus on his career. The Kadaikutty Singam star had his last outing last year in Japan filmed by Raju Murugan with actress Anu Emmanuel in the female lead role. The actor who has not had a release this year will soon have one in Meiyazhagan. Director C Prem Kumar who had lastly crafted 96, has penciled and directed the flick. Actress Sri Divya of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame will be seen in the female lead part. Veteran actor Arvind Swamy has portrayed a vital part. Meiyazhagan is slated to release on 27th of September.
The production house had released the teaser of the drama earlier this month. Now they have launched the trailer of the entertainer on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Karthi dropped a poster from the movie along with a link to the trailer of Meiyazhagan and wrote, “Welcoming you all into the calm and soulful world of Meiyazhagan. Nearly three minute long trailer begins with the character played by Devadarshini asking Arvind Swamy’s character, “Are you scared to go back to your native, Arul? I know how much you love that town and that house. Are you scared you will become emotional and break down if you go there?” Then we have a few shots of both in-laws played by Karthi and Arvind Swamy bonding and having fun crooning classic vintage songs. In a shot we witness Sri Divya’s character telling Arvind Swamy, “He likes you a lot. This day, when you have come and stayed, he will talk about it throughout the year, to everyone whom he meets.” The trailer ends with a mystery leaving us to wonder as to what caused the strong bond between the in-laws.
Star cast of Meiyazhagan includes actors Jayaprakash, Rajkiran, Karunakaran, Swathi Konde, Raichal Rabecca, Devadarshini, Ilavarasu, Sriranjani, Saran Shakthi, Meru Thodarchi Malai Antony, Rajkumar, Rani Samyuktha, Indumathy Manikandan, Kayal Subramani, and Ashok Pandian. Music composer Govind Vasantha has handled musical gears for the movie. This is his second association with C Prem Kumar after their chartbusting album in 96. Cinematographer Mahendiran Jayaraju has operated camera for the drama. Editor R Govindraj has overseen the editing division of the flick. Art director S Ayyappan has erected sets for the entertainer. Stuntman Stunner Sam has fashioned action moves. The film is backed by Suriya and Jyothika along with Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandiyan under the production label 2D Entertainment. B Sakthivelan will be distributing the entertainer under his banner Sakthi Film Factory.
On the professional front, actor Karthi will have his next outing in Vaa Vaathiyaare filmed by director Nalan Kumarasamy. Actress Krithi Shetty has played the love interest of the star in the drama. The actor is currently occupied with his upcoming project Sardar 2 crafted by P S Mithran in which he will be sharing screen space with actresses Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan.
