Actor Kathir was last seen on screens in the neo noir drama Thalaikoothal which was released in the year 2023 under the direction of Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan with actress Vasundhara Kashyap as female lead. The Yugi actor has not had a release since. But he will soon have one in the digital space via the 2nd season of his hit web series Suzhal – The Vortex. Directors Pushkar and Gayatri, who had created the first season retain their credit in season 2 as well. Storyteller Bramma G who helmed the first season is engaged again, while Arucharan Murugaiyan has been replaced by Sarjun K M. Actress Aishwarya Rajesh returns to reprise her part in season 2. The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime OTT platform from 28th of February.
The makers have now released the trailer of the series on social media. Taking to his official X handle, actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni unveiled the trailer of Suzhal – The Vortex Season 2, and worded, “Have always been intrigued by Pushkar Gayatri work, really enjoyed the first season of Suzhal. Here is the trailer of the next Suzhal S2 On Prime. My best wishes to the entire team for another blockbuster season.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Two minute trailer of Suzhal – The Vortex Season 2 starts with a perplexed Aishwarya Rajesh asking herself, “Did not I commit a murder? Wasn’t it revenge for what he did to my sister?” The shot cuts to actor Lal promising Kathir, “It is my responsibility to ensure Nandini’s release.” Then we have a bonding moment between them. Lal’s character gets murdered, and the case is assigned to Kathir. During investigation a cop says, “Eight suspects for one murder. They are all young women. They must be dealt with carefully.” Earlier talking to a leading daily, director Bramma said, “The massive success of the first season has placed a very high benchmark for us to enthrall the audience. Our creators have put in a lot of effort to make the plot refreshing and engaging. I am confident that even the second season will have a similar reception that its predecessor enjoyed.”
The ensemble cast of Suzhal – The Vortex Season 2 also includes actors Lal, Saravanan, Manjima Mohan, Kayal Chandran, Gouri G Kishan, Rini, Viola Viswanathan, Samyuktha, Monisha Blessy, Abhirami Bose, Shrisha, Nikhila Sankar, Chandini Tamilarasan, Ashwini Nambiar, and Kalaivani Bhaskar. Music composer Sam C S has scored music for the venture. Cinematographer Abraham Joseph has been behind camera for the drama. Editor Richard Kevin has handled the editing department of the entertainer. Art director S S Moorthy has engineered sets for the project. Stunt masters Dhilip Subbarayan and Dinesh Kumar have fashioned action moves for the venture. Suzhal – The Vortex Season 2 is bankrolled by Pushkar and Gayatri under their production company Wallwatcher Films.
On the professional front, currently actor Kathir is engaged in his upcoming flick Maanavan scripted by S L S Henry in which he will be romancing actress Yuvalakshmi. On the other hand, actress Aishwarya Rajesh will soon be seen on screens in Karuppar Nagaram crafted by Nataraj Gopi in which she has co starred with actor Jai, and Mohandas directed by Murali Karthick in which she has collaborated with actor Vishu Vishal. The Run Baby Run actress is presently occupied in her future projects Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga filmed by Dinesh Lakshmanan in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Arjun Sarja, and a Kannada venture Uttarakaanda helmed by storyteller Rohit Padaki in which she will be featuring alongside actors Dhananjaya, Shiva Rajkumar, Bhavana Menon, & Chaithra J Achar.
