The minimalistic drama Kazhugu which hit the screens in the year 2012 under the directorial of film maker Sathyasiva starring Krishna Sekhar, Bindhu Madhavi, Thambi Ramaiah, and Jayaprakash received critical acclamations from the audience as well as from the critics in the industry. Despite hitting the screens as an underdog venture, the drama kept the box office cash register ticking. As this is the season of sequels and remakes in Tamil cinema, makers and story tellers are showing keen interest to make a sequel for their hit project. In the line of sequels, the next sequel to make its way to the theaters will be Kazhugu 2. The project which went on floors at the end of June is now ready to hit the screens.
Now, the production unit has unveiled the teaser of the film on social media. The teaser looks like a replica of the prequel but it is promising. The movie apparently seems to have been shot in real locations just like the first part. The teaser has a lot of suspense elements in it and gives us a glimpse of its dark theme. The tense moments in the few seconds cut creates a good build up for the intense drama. The teaser ends with an animal in a ferocious state. The sequel is also scripted and directed by Sathyasiva who directed the first version. The venture is expected to hit the screens soon.
Krishna who depicted the role of a man who made his living by recovering the bodies of people who committed suicide in the western Ghats in the first part, plays the role of a man who hunts down wild dogs that that causes great menace to people of the same region in the second. Actors Bindu Madhavi and Kaali Venkat have been retained for the second part as well, while Crane Manohar has been added to the cast. The motion picture is produced by Tiruppur P. A. Ganesh under his banner GK Studios. While Raja Battacharjee has cranked the camera for the flick, Gopi Krishna will be trimming the intense movie. The music for the film is composed by music sensation Yuvan Shankar Raja. A number from the flick has already been unveiled on internet and it has enjoyed a good reception among the fans of the musician.
Actor Krishna was last seen on screens in a supporting role in the mass action entertainer Maari 2 alongside actor Dhanush which did not fair in the box office. Even his last project as lead hero Kalari put on a poor show. The actor who is in need to deliver a hit under his name to reinstate his image as a bankable hero, is said to have high hopes on the entertainer. The actor is currently busy shooting for his supernatural crime thriller Graghanam under the directorial of Elan in which he will be sharing the screens space with Chandran and Nandini Rai.
