Actor Jiiva was last seen in the science fiction horror entertainer Black helmed by storyteller K G Balasubramani with actress Priya Bhavani Shankar as female lead. Veteran star Arjun Sarja graced the silver screens lastly through the Malayalam Tamil bilingual drama Virundhu scripted by Kannan Thamarakkulam with actress Nikki Galrani Pinisetty as female lead. We had recently reported that both the actors have joined forces for the upcoming horror thriller Aghathiyaa. Lyricist and director Pa Vijay, who has directed projects such as Strawberry and Aaruthra, has penned and crafted the entertainer. Actress Raashi Khanna of Adanga Maru fame will be seen as the love interest of Jiiva in the movie. Aghathiyaa is poised to hit theaters worldwide on 31st of January. The entertainer will be released in languages Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
The makers have begun to promote the film across all platforms. They recently released the teaser of the film on social media. Now they have dropped the lyrical video of the track titled ‘Kaatrin Viral’ from the album. Taking to his official X handle, actor Jiiva unveiled both Tamil and Telugu versions of the lyrical video song ‘Kaatrin Viral’ from Aghathiyaa and captioned it, “Immerse yourself in Yuvan’s magical melody!! Kaatrin Viral (Tamil) Gaali Ooyalallo (Telugu). Aghathiyaa in cinemas January 31st.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music and crooned the number. Lyricist Pa Vijay has written the lyrics of the track. The song is mixed and mastered by M Kumaraguruparan. Dance master Kalaimaamani Sridhar has choreographed dance moves for the song. The teaser of Aghathiyaa which was released recently indicated that the drama is set in the present and in 1940 during the British colonization of India. Besides Jiiva, Raashi Khanna, and Arjun Sarja, the cast of Aghathiyaa also has actors Edward Sonnen Blick, Radha Ravi, Redin Kingsley, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Indhraja Shankar, Matylda, and Azhagam Perumal portraying various supporting roles.
The technical facade of the project has cinematographer Dipak Kumar Padhy operating camera gears for the drama. Editor San Lokesh has been signed in to edit the movie. Art director P Shanmugam has engineered sets for the flick. Action master K Ganesh has designed action moves for the film. The flick is funded by Ishari K Ganesh under the production label Vels Film International in collaboration with Aneesh Arjun Dev for the production house Wide Angle Media.
On the professional side, presently actor Jiiva is busy shooting for his next Telugu entertainer Kannappa filmed by director Mukesh Kumar Singh in which he will be performing alongside actor Vishnu Manchu. On the other hand, actor Arjun Sarja will soon have successive outings in Vidaa Muyarchi crafted by Magizh Thirumeni in which he has associated with Thala Ajith Kumar, Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga scripted by director Dinesh Lakshmanan in which he has romanced actress Aishwarya Rajesh, and a Kannada movie christened Seetha Payanam directed by himself with actors Niranjan Sudhindra, Aishwarya Arjun, Prakash Raj, and Sathyaraj depicting lead roles.
