The Soodhu Kavvum actor is on the fly, travelling to multiple states shooting for multiple projects. The actor who had a release in Kadaisi Vivasayi last month is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated romance drama Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal that is poised to hit the screens on 28th of this month under the directorial of filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Following which he will have another release earlier next month with Maamanithan. Now, the trailer of the entertainer is out.
Musician and producer Yuvan Shankar Raja has shared the trailer on social media. Taking to his official twitter account, he dropped the trailer and wrote, “Happy to unveil the trailer of Maamanithan. Soon in cinemas.” Here is the trailer of the flick.
The trailer starts with energetic Vijay Sethupathi walking out of his house donning the traditional attire. Then we get a glimpse of his affectionate family. The kids seek the blessing of the parents and the mother tells them to read well and get a good name. To which the kid hilariously asks, “Isn’t Nitya a good name then.” The trailer ends with Vijay Sethupathi saying, “It is not easy for a kid to win in a village where his father lost.”
Actor Vijay Sethupathi is said to have played the role of an auto driver in the film. The movie is said to be based on the predicaments that middle-class people endure for survival. Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, the film has actress Gayathrie playing the female lead role. The flick has an ensemble cast that includes actors K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram, Shaji Chen, Jewel Mary, Anikha, Ganja Karuppu, Manasvi Kottachi, and Saravana Sakthi in various other supporting roles. The music for the entertainer is composed by Ilaiyaraaja and his sons Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Karthik Raja. The cinematography department of the drama has been handled by cinematographer M. Sukumar. Editor Sreekar Prasad has edited the drama. The project is bankrolled by musician Yuvan Shankar Raja along with Shan Sutharasan for the production house YSR Productions.
On the work front, actor Vijay Sethupathi who was last seen on screens in Kadaisi Vivasayi is currently busy shooting for his next Tamil drama christened Viduthalai helmed by auteur Vetrimaaran in which he will be sharing the screen space with actor Soori. He is also busy shooting for his Hindi projects titled Mumbaikar under the direction of story teller Santhosh Sivan, Gandhi Talks directed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar, and Merry Christmas. Apart from these projects, the actor will have back-to-back releases in the likes of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal helmed by filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he will be seen alongside Fahadh Faasil, and Kamal Haasan, and his Malayalam film 19 (1) (a).
