Actor K Manikandan began his career as a supporting actor. Later turned a writer. Then a director. Finally gaining the recognition he deserves for his supporting part in Jai Bhim, and became a lead hero in Good Night. He had his last outing in the romantic drama Lover which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Prabhuram Vyas with actress Sri Gouri Priya in the female lead role. The movie received positive reviews from critics and had a decent run in the box office. The Sillu Karuppatti star will soon have a release via the comedy flick Kudumbasthan. Actress Saanve Megghana has been cast against the actor in the movie. Director Rajeshwar Kalisamy has crafted the drama. He has co written the story of the film with Prasanna Balachandran. He has used the assistance of writer N Krishnakanth in shaping the screenplay.
The production house had recently announced that the film cleared the censor board process with a clean U certificate. Now they have launched the trailer of the flick along with its release date on social media. Kudumbasthan is poised to hit theaters worldwide on 24th of January. Taking to his official X handle, actor Manikandan dropped the trailer Kudumbasthan and captioned it, “The rollercoaster ride of a family man Kudumbasthan – trailer out now! Two minute trailer of Kudumbasthan opens to a funny voiceover that runs throughout the trailer, “Welcome everyone! Today, we will learn the recipe to create a family man. Firstly, pick a man who is happy in life. Then, let us get him married. A pinch of happiness. Quarter teaspoon of trust. Raise the temperature to make it hotter. Let us add more spice to it. Now add the pre-soaked responsibilities on top of it. Fry him until he turns red. Stir up more problems and let it boil. Remove him after extensive stewing. And there is your hot and piping family man ready to serve. Try our recipe and give your feedback. Thank you!” In a scene we see actor Manikandan get fatigued just by hearing a list of expenditure being mentioned by his wife, “Donation, admission fee, monthly fee, term fee, tuition fee, exam fee, lab fee, sports, stationery, uniform, cycle, laptop, two-wheeler, four . . .” Subsequently, actor Guru Somasundaram delivers a counter to it, “Among mounting commitments, losing a job is the beauty.”
Apart from Manikandan, Saanve Megghana, and Guru Somasundaram, Kudumbasthan has actors R Sundarrajan, Prasanna Balachandran, Balaji Sakthivel, Nakkalities Dhanam, Nakkalities Savithiri, Nivedita Rajappan, and Jenson Dhivakar essaying pivotal supporting roles. Music director Vaisagh has been engaged to compose music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Sujith N Subramaniam has operated camera gears for the venture. Editor Kannan Balu has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the project. Art director Suresh Kallery has designed the background for the flick. Stunt master Dinesh Subbarayan has choreographed action moves for the flick. The entertainer is produced by S Vinoth Kumar in association with P Kanagaraj, Kumar Krishnasamy, and V Ramachandran under the production label Cinemakaaran.
