Actor Guru Somasundaram had a release earlier this year in the crime thriller Bayamariya Brammai which hit the screens under the direction of Rahul Kabali. The entertainer left theaters unnoticed. The Minnal Murali star will soon have an opportunity to set things right with his upcoming dark comedy drama Bottle Radha. Story teller Dhinakaran Sivalingam has written and helmed the movie. Actress Sanchana Natrajan of Irudhi Suttru fame has been cast as the female lead in the venture. The production house has announced that the entertainer will be out in theaters worldwide from December 20. Music director Sean Roldan of ‘Kadhal Kanave’ fame has composed music for the film. Two songs titled ‘Yov Bottle – U’ written by Bakkiyam and sung by singers Gana Balamurugan, Gana Chella Muthu, and Gana Apelow, and ‘En Vanam’ penned by Uma Devi and crooned by Sean Roldan himself are already out from the album.
The makers have now released the third number christened ‘Naa Naa Kudikaran’ from the album on social media. Rapper and lyricist Arivu has written and crooned the number. Taking to his official X profile, filmmaker Pa Ranjith dropped a link to the song ‘Naa Naa Kudikaran’ and captioned it, “The atrocities of Bottle Radha – An alcoholic’s kadharal. Naa Naa Kudikaran is out now. A Sean Roldan musical. Vocals and lyrics by Arivu. Bottle Radha from Dec 20.” Here is the post made by the story teller.
The teaser of the film which was released a couple of months ago showed actor Guru Somasundaram as an alcoholic who lands in all sorts of trouble which puts his family in distress. Earlier speaking about the entertainer to a popular daily, Dhinakaran Sivalingam divulged, “The story of Bottle Radha is about a mason depicted by Guru sir who turns into an alcoholic which ruins his life and drives away people who are dear to him. It is about how this character navigates these struggles and finds redemption.”
The ensemble cast of Bottle Radha also features John Vijay, Maaran, Suhasini Sanjeev, Pari Elavazhagan, Aneesha, Oviyar Sow Senthi, Abhi Ramaiyah, Malathi Ashok Nawin, Siranjivi, Prasad, Antony, Madhavi Raj, Anbarasi, Kaala Kumar, J P Kumar, K S Karuna, Arumugavel, Naveen George Thomas, and Shegar Narayana. Cinematographer Roopesh Shaji has piloted the cameras for the film. The responsibility to edit the flick has been handed over to editor E Sangathamizhan. Art director A Raja has fashioned sets for the entertainer. Stuntman P C Stunts have engineered action blocks. Bottle Radha is funded by Pa Ranjith under the banner house Nelam Productions partnering with T N Arun Balaji and A Nandakumar for the production label Balloon Pictures.
On the work front, actor Guru Somasundaram will next have a release in Tamil in Kudumbasthan scripted by Rajeswar Kalisamy in which he has associated with actor Manikandan, and in Malayalam via the children’s fantasy movie Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure crafted and headlined by superstar Mohanlal.
