Actor Sivakarthikeyan is currently riding high in the Tamil cinema industry with handful of films to keep him busy until 2021. The actor was last seen on screens in the romantic action entertainer Mr. Local which hit the screens under the directorial of director M. Rajesh. The entertainer was panned by critics in the industry as well as by the audience. As a result despite the star power of Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara the comedy entertainer did not do well in the box office as expected. But the actor is certain that his next project titled as Namma Veettu Pillai will take him back to the winning zone. The actor is said to be in high hopes on his upcoming family drama as it marks the third time association of him and director Pandiraj. The project which went on floors a couple of months ago has reached the finish line and now the production house has unveiled the trailer of the movie on social media.
A couple of first look posters of the flick which was launched sometime ago suggested that the entertainer will be a family drama with emotions, family sentiments and at the same time be high on action. As suggested the trailer of the drama has all the elements in it. From its share of punch dialogues to romance, the trailer of the film promises to be an out and out commercial potboiler. The dialogues, ‘The one who sacrifices or loses for the sake of the family will never be defeated’ and ‘Family is the only thing that can give you happiness and grief like no one else’ have garner the attention of Tamil cinema audience. The family drama is slated to hit the theaters on 27th of this month.
Namma Veettu Pillai is said to be in the line of classic brother and sister sentiment films of Tamil cinema like Pasamalar, Mullum Malarum, etc. Actress Aishwarya Rajesh will be seen in the role of the younger sister of Sivakarthikeyan. The actor will be romancing actress Anu Emmanuel in the film. The casting of the film also has veteran director Bharathiraja, Samuthirakani, Natty Natraj, Soori, Vela Ramamoorthy, Yogi Babu, R. K. Suresh, Aadukalam Naren, Archana, and Meera Mitun. The combo of Sivakarthikeyan and Soori also seems to be at their best after their successful venture Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam. So the expectations on the flick are quite high. We will have to wait to see whether the movie stands up to the expectations of the audience. The musical department of the venture has been handed over to D. Imman. While cinematographer Nirav Shah has helmed the camera for the film, editor Ruben has taken care of the editing department of the venture. The motion picture is funded by Kalanithi Maren under the banner Sun Pictures.
On the professional front, actor Sivakarthikeyan is busy shooting for his next project Hero under the directorial of director P. S. Mithran and also for his untitled science fiction project which is helmed by story teller R. Ravikumar of Indru Netru Naalai fame. Apart from these movies the actor has an untitled flick which will be directed by story teller Vignesh Sivan in his kitty.
