After a long gap Kollywood experienced a coming-of-age friendship drama in Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu. Actor Ananth Ram of Meesaya Murukku fame had penciled, helmed, and essayed the lead role in the project. Writer Rajesh V had offered his assistance in shaping the screenplay. Popular host and small screen actor RJ Vijay depicted a pivotal part in the flick. Actress Bhavani Sre of Viduthalai fame was seen in the female lead role. Ananth Ram promoted the film in innovative ways which garnered the attention of the audience. He visited major metropolitan cities of Tamil Nadu to gather people’s opinion on the trailer of the venture following its launch. The entertainer was released on the second of last month. It opened to mixed reviews from the critics, and did not have a good run in the box office.
Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu is now poised for its release in digital space. The production house has announced the release date on social media. Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu is all set to be premiered on Aha Tamil OTT platform from 13th September. Taking to their official X account, the OTT platform dropped a clip from the film and captioned it, “Ella emotion-um kalandhu oru pakka coming of age drama pakka ready-ah? Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu is a coming-of-age drama which follows the life of the protagonist who aspires to be an entrepreneur and start his own events management company. Earlier talking about Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu story teller Ananth Ram said, “Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu it is a real-life story. It happened to me and my friend. If you observe closely, you will realize that we get like one or two movies based on friendship in a decade like Chennai 600028 or Endrendrum Punnagai. My film will be analogous in tone to them.”
Cast of Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu also includes actors Kulappulli Leela, Poovendhan, Guhan Prakash, Monica, Vishalini, Elango Kumaravel, Wilspat, Irfan, Dev, Kyp Bala, G D Vinoth, RJ Anandhi, Sabarish, Fenny Oliver, Dharma, Sai Venkatesh, Madan Gowri, Jerome Remigas, Praveen, and Tiger Thangadurai. Music director A H Kaashif has scored music for the movie. Cinematographer Tamil Selvan has been behind the lens. Editor Fenny Oliver has trimmed the project. Art director Rahul has fashioned the background for the flick. Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu is funded by M Aishwarya along with R Sudha for the production company Masala Popcorn in collaboration with Pooranesh and Mohan for the production house White Feather Studios. Story teller Venkat Prabhu had presented the movie under his home banner Black Ticket Company.
On the work front, actress Bhavani Sre is awaiting the release of Viduthalai Part 2 crafted by film maker Vetrimaaran in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, and Manju Warrier.
