Childhood friendships enduring into adulthood are special and always have numerous pleasant memories to reminiscence. Not many films get made on the genre. Gladly Kollywood will soon have a flick based on the topic in Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu. Actor Ananth Ram of Meesaya Murukku fame has written, directed, and played the lead role. Writer Rajesh V has helped with the screenplay. Popular host and small screen actor RJ Vijay has essayed a vital role in the drama. Bhavani Sre of Viduthalai fame will be seen in the female lead part. Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu is all set to hit the screens on 2nd of August.
The production house has now released the trailer of the entertainer on social media. Taking to his official X account, musician Yuvan Shankar Raja dropped the trailer of Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu and captioned it, “Here is the trailer of Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu. The two and a half minutes long trailer opens to a character sitting with his father in counselling for his college placement. In an amusing way he tells his father, “Dad I do not want this course. I want to join Visual Communication in Loyola college. You know our Thalapathy? He is also an alumnus of that college.” He gets a killer gaze from his father. The shot cuts to a mother yelling at her son, “All your friends have found a job. Why are you the only exception?” We have a Rajinikanth reference from Billa here, “A job not befitting my education. Not validating my father’s clout. A job not secured on my integrity, honesty, hard work. If I can get it only with a few references I do not want that job sir.” The trailer looks quite intriguing and has garnered the attention of a lot of youth in the state.
Apart from actors Ananth Ram, RJ Vijay, and Bhavani Sre, the casting of Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu has actors Kulappulli Leela, Monica, Elango Kumaravel, Vishalini, Irfan, Wilspat, Dev, Kyp Bala, RJ Anandhi, Sabarish, Guhan Prakash, Fenny Oliver, Dharma, G D Vinoth, Poovendhan, Madan Gowri, Jerome Remigas, Praveen, Sai Venkatesh, and Tiger Thangadurai essaying various supporting roles. Director Venkat Prabhu and M Aishwarya will be seen in a cameo appearance. Music director A H Kaashif has composed music for the drama. Cinematographer Tamil Selvan has cranked camera. Editor Fenny Oliver has brought coherence to the flick. Art director Rahul has engineered sets for the project. Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu is produced by M Aishwarya along with R Sudha under the production label Masala Popcorn in association with Pooranesh and Mohan for the banner house White Feather Studios. Story teller Venkat Prabhu will be presenting the entertainer.
On the work front, actress Bhavani Sre will soon have a release in Viduthalai Part 2 helmed by director Vetrimaaran in which she will be seen alongside actors Soori and Vijay Sethupathi.
