Mohan Raja and Nayanthara are set to win our hearts all over again. After Thani Oruvan, they are teaming up for the second time in Velaikkaran. Nayanthara is certainly the director’s lucky charm as he says, “Yes, of course. I always believe in team work. I think an artiste should get into the skin of the character he/she is playing and Nayanthara does it brilliantly. She attends workshops for her films and I am not sure how many others do it. Her experience shows in every scene she performs and our challenge now is to make this film bigger and better than Thani Oruvan. I’ve to do justice to her image.”
The movie will see Nayanthara play Mrinalini, someone who is socially-conscious. “In all my films, be it Sadaa in Jayam, Nadhiya in M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi or Genelia in Velayutham, all the heroines have had strong roles. It was not a conscious effort to make it that way. I believe that a good, well-balanced story, by default, will have a strong woman character,” he states.
The work on the film is in full swing. Raja informs that he’s planning to shoot a duet number with the two leads, Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara, in Europe soon.
