The lady super star of South Indian cinema actress Nayanthara who is at the pinnacle of her career has currently faced back to back setbacks in the likes of her first ever dual role venture Airaa and her last outing with Sivakarthikeyan Mr. Local. But that does not dim the expectations of the actress’s next project Kolayuthir Kaalam, official Tamil remake of super hit Hollywood film Hush. The actress is quite confident that this intense dark drama will bring her back to the winning ways. And the fans of the actress are also equally in high hopes that their favorite star will entertain them in this venture.
The intense thriller was initially slated to hit the screens on 14th of June but had to be pushed as it ran in to a legal roadblock. A case was filed over a dispute over the title of the project. Petitioner film maker K Balaji Kumar approached the court requesting to band the release of the movie and claimed that he holds the rights for the title Kolayuthir Kaalam. K Balaji Kumar stated in his petition that he had brought the rights to one of Sujatha’s most popular novels Kolayuthir Kaalam which was released in the year 1981 for 10 lakhs rupees. His claim was that since he holds the rights for the novel, he is also entitled to its movie title on the same name. Hearing out both sides arguments Justice Krishnan Ramasamy ruled in favor of the Kolayuthir Kaalam team.
After the judgment the unit is much relieved. Now, we have news that the movie will hit the screens on 26th of this month. This indeed is a great news not only for the fans of the actress but also for the movie buffs in the state as the trailer of the film was very promising and has created a good built up for the flick. The flick was also made in Hindi under the title Khamoshi which had Tamannaah Bhatia, Prabhu Deva and Bhumika Chawla in pivotal roles. But the thriller put on a flop show and was a big commercial failure. We will have to wait to see what changes the film maker did in the Tamil version and whether the changes will yield commercial success or not.
The drama is scripted and directed by Chakri Toleti of Unnaipol Oruvan fame, who had directed the original version. Apart from actress Nayanthara, the flick has veteran Pratap Pothen, Rohini Hattangadi and Bhumika Chawla making her come back after a long time. Rameshwar S Bhagat handles the editing department of the movie. The motion picture is bankrolled by V. Mathiyalagan under his home banner Etcetera Entertainment.
