Tamil cinema audiences and celebrities together are celebrating two of the most well-made socio-political films in recent times. Mari Selvaraj’s Vaazhai and P S Vinoth Raj’s Kottukaali which got released last weekend. Directors and actors have been raving about the entertainers. Story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote a heartfelt note expressing his gratitude to directors Mari Selvaraj and P S Vinoth Raj for having made such extraordinary life dramas, and expressed that this is the golden era of Tamil cinema. Now film makers Pa Ranjith and Bala have written highly about Kottukaali headlined by actors Soori and Malayalam actress Anna Ben.
Taking to his official X handle, storyteller Pa Ranjith wrote, “An extraordinary experience that will redefine Tamil cinema’s mainstream appeal – Kottukaali. Director Bala has written a letter appreciating Kottukkaali. Actor Soori has shared the letter on social media and has thanked him. He took to his official X account and posted the letter with the caption, “இயக்குனர் அண்ணன் பாலாவின் வாழ்த்து! எங்களுக்கு இதுவரை கிடைத்த மிகச்சிறந்த விருதுகளில் இதுவும் ஒன்று!” ‘Director Bala’s appreciation. Kottukkaali is about an upper community woman who loves a man from an oppressed community. Her family members who could not accept it, claims that she is possessed and prepares to cast out the spell. Casting crew of Kottukaali also comprises actors Jawahar Sakthi, Sai Abinaya, Poobalam Pragatheeswaran, and Mullaiyarasi. Cinematographer B Sakthivel has shouldered camera. Editor Ganesh Siva has trimmed the flick. Art director K Kadhirr has designed the background.
