Actor Prabhu Deva who began his career as a dance choreographer metamorphosed into a lead hero, then into a director, and later to a producer. The actor has completed nearly four decades in the industry and is still one of the busiest artists in the industry with films across languages in his pipeline. He recently had a great outing in the Vijay starrer Goat: The Greatest Of All Time. He will soon have a release in his upcoming project titled Jolly O Gymkhana. Actress Madonna Sebastian has portrayed the female lead part. Veteran actress Abirami has essayed the role of Madonna Sebastian’s mother in the film. Film maker Shakthi Chidambaram who is known for movies like Charlie Chaplin, Maha Nadigan, and Kovai Brothers has written and directed the flick.
The makers have now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media. Taking to his official X handle, actor Yogi Babu shared the trailer of Jolly O Gymkhana and wrote, “Very happy to release the super roller coaster fun trailer of Jolly O Gymkhana. Nearly two minute trailer has actor Prabhu Deva as a dead body with a group of women trying to transport him to an unknown destination. Earlier speaking about the film to a leading daily, director Shakthi Chidambaram said, “For the first time in his career actor Prabhu deva is set to play a dead person for a substantial portion of the drama. Jolly O Gymkhana is a story about a family that stumbles upon a dead body which puts them enroute to Kodaikanal. The troubles that ensue during their journey and the reason behind their resolve to give him a proper burial forms the crux of the drama. There is something for everyone in the movie. I have even staged a few dark comedy portions that have come out well. I am confident the audience will have a great experience watching the movie.”
Jolly O Gymkhana’s cast comprises actors Yogi babu, Redin Kingsley, Sai Dheena, Madhusudhan Rao, Yashika Aannand, Robo Shankar, John Vijay, Y G Mahendran, and M S Bhaskar. Music director Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy will be handling musical gears for the movie. Cinematographer M C Ganesh Chandra has been behind camera for the project. Editors R Ramar and M Niranjan Antony have worked in tandem to bring coherence to the entertainer. Art director C S Balachander has designed the background for the flick. Jolly O Gymkhana is bankrolled by Rajendra M Rajan and Neela Rajan under their banner house Transindia Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
On the work front, actor Prabhu Deva will next be seen on screens in Petta Rap directed by S J Sinu in which he has collaborated with actress Vedhika. Currently he is busy shooting for multiple projects Musasi helmed by Sam Rodrigues in which he will be seen alongside actress Leona Lishoy, Flashback crafted by Don Sandy in which he will be romancing actress Regina Cassandra, and Wolf filmed by Vinu Venkatesh in which he will be co starring with actress Raai Laxmi. Apart from these ventures, he has a Malayalam flick Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer scripted by Rojin Thomas with actor Jayasurya in lead, and a Hindi drama Maharagni: Queen Of Queens helmed by Charan Tej in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Kajol.
