Director Prabu Solomon turned the attention of Tamil cinema audience through his romantic drama Mynaa which gave a big break to both of its lead actors Vidharth and Amala Paul. The storyteller yet again played the right tone with his romantic film Kumki that launched actor Vikram Prabhu in Kollywood. Following the venture, the director has not tasted a solid commercial success. But the director is getting ready to rewrite that with his upcoming flick titled Sembi. Actor Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan who was last seen on screens in the romantic comedy film Enna Solla Pogirai will be playing the lead role in the flick. Veteran actress Kovai Sarala has essayed a pivotal part in the movie. Director and actor Selvaraghavan had shared the first trailer of the venture. The trailer garnered the attention of the audience, and set high expectations on the entertainer.Â
Now, before the blaze subsides the production house has released the second trailer of the drama on social media. Actor Dhanush K Raja has shared the second trailer. Taking to their official twitter account, the actor dropped a link to the second trailer of the film, and wrote, “Delighted to launch the second trailer of Sembi. Best Wishes to the team.” Here is the post made by the actor.

The two minutes 30 seconds trailer cut opens with a melodramatic background score to a scenic shot where we see actress Kovai Sarala, and child artist Nila sitting by a waterfall. Then we witness them walking through a forest region. Child artist Nila says to Kovai Sarala, “You cast your vote to that uncle. He will make me a doctor.” To which Kovai Sarala responds, “Does not matter whom we vote, we cannot become a doctor. Only if you read well, you can become a doctor.” She asks, “Then why did that uncle lie?” Kovai Sarala replies. “That is their job.” Following it, the trailer slides into a serious tone showing us a glimpse of political parties mobilizing their cadres, and towards the end we learn that Kovai Sarala is declared as a fugitive. Like most of storyteller Prabu Solomon’s flicks even Sembi is set at the backdrop of a hilly region. In the trailer, we get a few shots of a breathtaking picturesque location.Â
Apart from actors Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan, and Kovai Sarala, Sembi has actors Thambi Ramaiah, Gnanasambandam Gurunathan, Reyaa, Nila, Nanjil Sampath, Mullai Arasi, and Pala Karuppaiah essaying various other supporting roles. Music director Nivas K Prasanna has composed the music for the drama. Cinematographer M Jeevan has been behind the lens for the movie. The editing department of the venture has been handed over to editor Buvan Srinivasan. Art director Vijay Thennarasu has designed the background for the entertainer. Stuntman Phoenix Prabhu has choreographed the action blocks for the movie. The project is bankrolled by R Ravindran under the production label AR Entertainment along with Ajmal Khan for the banner house Trident Arts. Producer, actor, and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin will be distributing the flick under his banner Red Giant Movies. Â
On the work front, actor Ashwin Kumar who was last seen on screens in the Enna Solla Pogirai is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming Telugu drama titled Anni Manchi Sakunamule helmed by director B V Nandhini Reddy in which he has shared the screen space with actors Santhosh Shoban and Malavika Nair. On the other hand, actress Kovai Sarala who had her last outing in One Way is currently busy shooting for her next project christened Nooru Kodi Vaanavil scripted by Sasi in which she will be seen alongside actors Harish Kalyan and Siddhi Idnani, and for Aayiram Jenmangal directed by Ezhil in which she will be collaborating with actors G V Prakash Kumar and Eesha Rebba.Â
