The town is in talk of film maker H. Vinoth’s directorial Valimai which hit the screens this weekend starring superstar Ajith Kumar. As expected, the entertainer has crossed the 100 crore mark and if the reports are to be believed, it is still going strong. However, the response it managed to harvest was divided. While the aficionados of the actor are showering praises for their idol and rave about the hard work, he has put in to perform the stunt sequences, there has been negative reviews doing their way as well. Some people felt that the film was high on action and less on substance. The production house has not reacted to any of the negative reviews and they are in celebration mood with the entertainer keeping the box office on the roll.
Even film maker H. Vinoth does not seem to concern himself with all this and has quietly begun works for his next project AK 61 which will also have actor Ajith Kumar in the lead role. Now we have news that the project is set to go on floors on 9th of March with a small pooja ceremony. The film is said to be shot in foreign locations and at the Ramoji Rao Film City. Earlier this month, the director took to his twitter account and shared a negative poster of actor Ajith Kumar with the message, ‘You’ll be stunned. Wait for it!”
Framework of actor Ajith with beard in white, looks spectacular and went viral. As decided years ago, even this project will be bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under his production house Bayview Projects LLP. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized. We can expect full casting details on the day when the film goes on floor.
Of late, actor Ajith Kumar has developed a habit of doing consecutive films with a director. The culture that started off with film maker Siruthai Siva continues steadily on its course. AK 61 will be the third venture the duo is teaming up for after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. We will have to wait to see whether the duo will be able to deliver a hattrick blockbusters. Film maker H. Vinoth has earned a notorious reputation for himself as a director with a strong visualization prowess of the action blocks, he writes. He has done that film after film from his sophomore flick Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. So, it is very likely that even this drama will be high in action.
Even when being busy with the pre-production works and finalizing cast of AK 61, story teller H. Vinoth seems to be making moves for his next directorial venture. There are speculations that the director is planning on roping in actor Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi on board for his next. It is also said that comedian Yogi Babu will be handed the job of providing comical relief. There are theories that even this venture will be funded by producer Boney Kapoor. We will have to wait to know how much of it is concrete.
