Indian cinema has known R. Madhavan as an actor. But we are about to know him as a writer director very soon through his upcoming venture titled Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The actor himself has written the story of the movie and has directed it. The venture is poised to hit the theatres on 1st of July this year. The project is set to be released in multiple languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English. Since globalisation has arrived even into cinema, the team recently travelled all the way to France to screen the film at the Cannes Film Festival which is underway, to put the film in the attention of the global audience. The screening of the entertainer is over. Now, the buzz is that there is news that the flick received a standing ovation from the audience at the end for a considerable amount of time.
Film maker Dhoop Ashwini has shared the news on social media. Taking to her official twitter handle, the storyteller shared a video from the event and wrote, “Fab job director sahib R. Madhavan. Big hug and huge congratulations from team.” Here is the post made by the director.
In the video we see people cheering for actor R. Madhavan and Nambi Narayanan who was also present at the event. Talking about the reception the venture enjoyed, actor R. Madhavan reportedly has stated that he is overwhelmed and is grateful for all the love the audience has given his film. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a biographical drama based on the life of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan who fought a legal battle for years to prove his innocence after he was wrongly accused of espionage. The drama is in the making for quite some time. The pre-production works for the film began back in 2017. Due to extensive research for the project the completion of the script consumed years. And since the entertainer had to be shot in various countries including India, France, Georgia, Serbia, and Russia it got prolonged.
Apart from actor R. Madhavan, the film has veteran actress Simran playing the female lead role. Actors Suriya and Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in guest appearances. The casting of the flick has actors Rajit Kapur, Ravi Raghavendra, Misha Ghoshal, Muralidaran, Karthik Kumar, Shyam Renganathan, Gulshan Grover, Dinesh Prabhakar, Mohan Raman, Ron Donachie, Phyllis Logan, Vincent Riotta, Sriram Parthasarathy, Bijou Thaangjam, Jagan, Rajeev Ravindranathan, Sam Mohan, and Bhawsheel essaying various other supporting roles. Music director Sam C. S. has scored the music for the film. Cinematographer Sirsha Ray has been behind the camera for the drama. The movie is edited by editor Bijith Bala. The venture is bankrolled by the actor himself along with his wife Sarita Madhavan for their home banner Tricolour Films along with Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan under the production house Varghese Moolan Pictures.
On the work front, actor R. Madhavan who is currently gearing up for the release of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will have a consecutive release in the likes of Amriki Pandit helmed by film maker Kalpesh Garg in which he has shared the screen space with actress Manju Warrier, and Dhokha Round D Corner directed by storyteller Kookie Gulati in which he will be seen alongside actress Aparshakti Khurana.
