Actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin was last seen on screens in Kannai Nambathey which hit the theaters under the direction of film maker Mu Maran with actress Aathmika in the female lead role. The entertainer did not live up to the expectations of the audience, and thus left the theaters unnoticed. The Oru Kal Oru Kannadi actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his upcoming venture titled Maamannan. Actress Keerthy Suresh has essayed the female lead part in the drama. Story teller Mari Selvaraj has written and directed the movie. The project which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a while back, is now wrapped and is in the post production getting fine tuned for release.
The production house has now released a track titled ‘Raasa Kannu’ from Maamannan on social media. Actress Keerthy Suresh has unveiled the song. Taking to her official twitter account, the actress dropped a poster from the film along with a link to the song, and wrote, “Super Happy to share this song sung by Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu sir in Isai Puyal A R Rahman sir’s music!” Here is the tweet made by the actress.

Nearly six minute long song video opens to a shot of a mountain range. Then cuts to music director A R Rahman’s studio. Actor Vadivelu has lent his voice for the track. Lyricist Yugabharathi has penned the number. The production house had released the first look poster of the movie earlier this year which had actors Vadivelu and Udhayanidhi Stalin sitting beside each other. The poster turned viral, and set high expectations on the flick. The teaser of the entertainer is expected to be unveiled by the end of this month. The production house has announced that the venture will be out in the month of June this year. They have not fixed an official release date yet.
Apart from actors Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Keerthy Suresh, the casting department on the drama has veteran actor Vadivelu and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil playing pivotal supporting roles. Music director A R Rahman has been roped in to compose music for the drama. Cinematographer Theni Eswar has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor Selva R K has been brought on board to edit the movie. Art director Kumar Gangappan has designed the background for the film. Stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed action blocks for the entertainer. The project is bankrolled by Udhayanidhi Stalin along with Shenbaga Moorthy and R Arjun Durai under the banner house Red Giant Movies.
On the work front, actor Fahadh Faasil who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Vikram is currently busy shooting for his next Telugu movie Pushpa 2: The Rule under the direction of story teller Sukumar in which he will be sharing screen space with actor Allu Arjun, and for Production No 1 helmed by director Jithu Madhavan in which he will be romancing actress Nazriya Nazim. Apart from these dramas, the actor has Hanuman Gear directed by Sudheesh Sankar in which he will be seen alongside actor Koushik Mahata, Paattu crafted by Alphonse Puthren in which he has collaborated with actress Nayanthara, and Dhoomam scripted by director Pawan Kumar in which he has co starred with actress Aparna Balamurali in various stages of post-production shaping up for release. On the other hand, actress Keerthy Suresh who had her last outing in Tamil in Saani Kaayidham is currently busy shooting for her upcoming project Siren filmed by Antony Bhagyaraj in which she will be seen alongside actor Jayam Ravi, for Raghu Thatha crafted by Suman Kumar in which she will be co starring with actor M S Bhaskar, for Revolver Rita directed by K Chandru, and for a Telugu venture Bhola Shankar scripted by Meher Ramesh in which she will be associating with actors Chiranjeevi and Tamannaah.
