Actor Rajinikanth had his last outing in the likes of the mass action entertainer Annaatthe which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Siruthai Siva with actress Nayanthara as the female lead. The entertainer opened to negative reviews from critics and audiences. As a result, it had a tepid response in the box office. The Baashha actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie titled Jailer. Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has essayed the female lead part. Director Nelson Dilipkumar of Beast fame has written and directed the movie. The drama went on floors with a small pooja ceremony in February last year. But some health issues kept actor Rajinikanth away from the sets of Jailer for a while. The actor took time to recuperate, and has now finished shooting for the venture.
The production house has now announced the release date of the drama on social media with a release date announcement video. Jailer is slated to hit the screens on 10th of August this year. Taking to their official twitter page, the production house dropped the video and wrote, “Jailer is all set to hunt from August 10th.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
