Tamil cinema has very few directors who have a dedicated audience base to them. Storyteller Ram has forged his way into being one of them with his extraordinary works such as Jiiva’s Kattradhu Thamizh, Vasanth Ravi’s Taramani, and Mammootty’s Peranbu. He is now gearing up for the release of his next directorial in Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai. Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly who familiarized himself to Tamil audience via Neram and left a lasting impression in the hearts of youngsters through Premam has headlined the film. Actress Anjali has essayed the female lead role in the movie. Actor Soori has played a prominent part in the flick. The entertainer has been in the making for a long period. But finally, it is nearing release.
The makers have now released the trailer of the drama on social media. Taking to his official X account, director Pa Ranjith dropped the link to the trailer of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai and wrote, “Breathtaking visuals, and a story we cannot wait to experience. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is going to be a masterpiece! Congratulations Ram sir & team Nivin Pauly, Soori, Anjali, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Suresh Kamatchi.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Two and a half minutes long trailer of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai begins with a note informing ‘on a Deepavali night.’ We witness a strange character played by Nivin Pauly blowing a long conch shell. When he stops the scene cuts to actor Soori expressing his frustration, “Thank God. He stopped.” Following which we learn that Soori is stuck in an empty train with Nivin Pauly who bullies him and at times be friendly with him. Soori tries hard to get away from him but struggles. Then we have a rat, a bunch of mysterious things from the past with strange characters at play, and a gorgeous Anjali’s character to the mix. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai has premiered in multiple international film festivals like Moscow, Rotterdam, and Transilvania international film festival (TIFF). It said that the entertainer received standing ovations from the audience in all festivals.
Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has handled musical instruments for the project. He has joined forces with Ram for the fifth time following their brilliant albums in Kattradhu Thamizh, Thanga Meengal, Taramani, and Peranbu. Two tracks ‘Marupadi Nee’ and ‘Yezhezhu Malai’ are already released from the album. Cinematographer N K Ekhambaram has shouldered cameras for the venture. Editor V S Mathi has been trusted with the editing division of the flick. Art director Ravi Pandian has engineered sets for the flick. Action director Stunt Silva has fashioned action blocks for the film. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is backed by Suresh Kamatchi under his home banner V House Productions.
On the work front, actor Nivin Pauly is set to foray into digital space with his upcoming Malayalam web series christened Pharma which is helmed by storyteller P R Arun. The ensemble cast of the series has actors Rajit Kapoor, Narain, Shruti Ramachandran, and Veena Nandakumar. The Neram actor is presently shooting for his next Malayalam ventures Dear Students filmed by Sandeep Kumar and George Philip Roy in which he will be romancing actress Nayanthara, and Kairali scripted by Jomon T John. On the other hand, currently actress Anjali is engaged in a couple of her women centric projects Poochandi crafted by Krishnan Jayaraj in which she will be featuring alongside actor Yogi Babu, and Eegai helmed by Ashok Velayutham.
